Another example .. If paying $300/year (every year) for my family to have their own Live account is better than paying $0 for those more robust dedicated servers is considered being impressive.. then I'm glad to be the dumbest fox on the planet. Those factors above mean PSN "blows" Live out of the water for me..being interrupted in Warhawk to go play GT5 isn't on my top 10 of must haves. |

Under another definition of Robust...I routinely get less lag on Call of Duty 4 on PSN than I do on Live. This is one case where more people is not necessarily better, as long as there are enough people you don't care if you have 100K opponents or 1 million opponents, and 100k opponents will operate better.

Im not backtracking on shit. Im the one who posted it, how are telling me what I posted is not my opinon. Mabye i didn't post right so I got misinterpreted. Thats my opinon, and I never said one word about playing on PSN cause I don't. I was talking robust download offerings.

look at all the stuff getting added. PSN and XBL shouldn't just be judged on downloadable offerings. it also should be by gameplay speed, features (living with playstation, home, ect.) it's not fair XBL has been out longer than PSN. wait until all these new updates take place and XBL will be pointless. why pay for something the playstation offers for free and has(will have) more stuff available. |

Speaking of realizing, most people still do not even realize the value of the PS3 itself. One look at it people will think this is a crappy system, out of all the three console this gen, PS3 is the worse. It got owned by 360 and Wii, it made Sony lost 3 bil, its online feature sucks, it's a completely useless system that can't do anything, other then to watch Blu-ray movies. Even the journalist hate it, let's all hate it as well. That is what goes on in my mind of most people out there. Which is very sad.

Guys,
I'm sure that if there is a difference in numbers, this is due to the fact that sell-in is being reported, not sell-through. For those who do not know, sell-in is what is sold from Sony and into the channels (whether brick and mortar or ecom). Sell-through is the actual numbers reported by the retailer or POP (point of purchase). Unfortunately, not all channels will report their sell through back to Sony, but the good news is that the big box retailers do (i.e. Best Buy, Walmart, Costco, etc...). So in light of the difference, the point is that XBOX is a dying gaming system and with the Blu Ray camp taking the trophy, PS3 will continue to run all over XBOX. |

This is good news. Lots of people on PSN. Plus we can't forget the people who have PS3s and aren't connected online. I have a friend who ive been telling to get a router for like 6 months now and hasn't gotten around to it. I also have a cousin who can't connect online because his parents are a couple of overprotective ignorant twats, who think hell make friends with a serial killer or something. I wonder what the total numbers of PS3 users are because not everyone is connected to PSN for various reasons.

What's the difference between the internet and the real world? Who here doesn't buy things online? Yeah one can't always trust people, but still, life can be a gamble, sometime you gotta take chance. How do we know our manager at work aren't serial killer? It's the same thing IRL just as it is online. My friend parents are like that too, paranoid and overly-protective. His PS3 is just laying there cause his parents wont let him use internet, for the most part. I guess as the old saying goes, people fear what they do not understand. |
