I own both systems and I just don't understand what all the hubub is for the 360. Multiplatform games and FPS's aside (I just don't care for FPS's unfortunately, they bore me), where are all these great games everyone keeps talking about?

Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, and Mass Effect are all I can come up with off the top of my head. I haven't even turned on my 360 in what must be about three months now, while my PS3 gets daily use out of me.

Edit: To be fair, Bioshock and The Condemned (although FPS's) I was able to get into because of their great storylines and phenomenal atmosphere.

Not everyone has the same taste in games.

Not counting FPS and multiplatform release, I like Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Crackdown, Gears of War, Project Sylpheed, Two Worlds, Operation Darkness.
Upcoming Games I believe I’m going to like are Spectral Force 3: Innocent Rage, Too Human, Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Two Worlds: The Temptation, Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

I’m sure there’s more but that’s all I can think of right now.

Also for multiplatform releases that have online co-op I prefer the Xbox 360 because almost all of my friends have 360 too.

I could easy say the same thing about not understanding all the hubub PS3 games. Off the top of my head the only games I’m interested in that are out are Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance: Fall of Man.

That doesn’t mean PS3 doesn’t have any other great games. I know people like other games like Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, Warhawk, etc… and I respect their choices, they’re just not my types of games.

So end the end when it comes to gaming it comes down
1. what types of games you like and
2. what systems your friends have if you like playing online co-co with your friends

On the plus side the PS3 is a great Blu-ray/DVD player which I use all the time.

Piece of crap come on what a load. I have all three systems and each is good in their own way. I don't want to hear any preaching about the rrod since they are paying to fix the problem.

They are paying to fix the problem. But my 360 has been not in my house for 3 months. A 15% downtime is completely unacceptable, whether I'm paying for it or someone else is.

Ironically all I use my 360 for these days is DVDs, where I do all of my gaming on the PS3. I firmly believe that this is the only reason my 360 hasn't bricked more times.

When my 360 failed it took 3 days to get a replacement from MS when my PS3 failed it took to weeks and cost me $150 while the 360 was free even after it was two years old.

It was free to fix the 360 because microsoft realized they had a manufacturing flaw that affected millions of customers. That's why they extended the warranty.

Im sorry Sir. but I gotta call bull on that, Microsoft does NOT have a 3 day turnaround for the RROD ISSUE. I know because I have Gone through 4 myself. It is 3-5 business days to recieve the box/coffin 3-5 for box to return to them and repair it then another 3-5 to return it to the owner. The fastest return I got was 8 days and it went to California(im in AZ). My Wii also died and that went to California as well and it was a 5 day turnaround.

So please don't try to make the numbers look better then what they are(unless you live un the same state as a repair shop or live next door).

Well, the one time I had an issue, it wasnt RRoD, it was the drive on one of my 360's was loading much slower than the other units. I got the coffin on a Monday, mailed it out, and got a new unit the following Monday. Alot faster than I expected. This was back in February I think.

Are you sure it's not a RRoD? Hardy har har.

Anyway, the question remains, what IF the 360 had HD-DVD {or Blu-Ray} onboard for it's launch.

First of all there's the price, they sacrificed alot of R&D in order to get the 360 available for launch day. Can you imagine what they would have had to put the price at if they put HD-DVD onboard?

Then there's the fail rate issue, with a new tech HD-DVD instead of a tried and true tech DVD they would have had at least a 10% increase in fail rate and maybe that extra 10% would get a great deal of their idiotic rabid fanboys to reconsider buying a 360 for gaming.

I agree with the person I'm quoting, I have yet to see these good games for the 360 that would warrant me wasting my money on something that I might have to wrap a wet towel around eventually {whoever thought that one up is a complete moron, yes genius wrap a WET towel around your technological equipment well done darwin} or have to send back to the manufacturer in which case you're not actually PLAYING anything on it during that time are you?

The anecdotal evidence here is painful to my eyes.

Maybe he means that when his 360 bricked it took him 3 days to get around to going out to buy one from the local Best Buy then he sent his old one in and sold what they sent back to a friend.
