I saw a bunch of these at Dollar General for $4.95 the other day. I decided to pass for now.

Very wise. I only own it, as it's included in the UK Seagal Collection set. I can't enjoy it from a detached 'watching it for the lols' perspective, as its such a POS compared with the first one.

Under Siege 2 is cheap (looking) and cheesy, but I still enjoyed it along with the other, early Seagal releases. I think The Glimmer Man was where the rot really started to set it.

If you ever go back and watch Under Siege 2 again this is a good fun commentary video to watch it with.

Really need to start getting some Seagal on Blu-ray. I enjoy all of his movies (except for On Deadly Ground) before he went straight-to-video and this was always one of my top favorites. Great score by Basil Poledouris, too.

The Glimmer Man is another top favorite. Wish that was on Blu-ray.

Yeah I'd definitely pick up The Glimmer Man if it got a blu ray release.

I wouldn't mind The Glimmer Man and possibly On Deadly Ground, for full OTT Michael Caine dialed up to 100.

I'd purchase On Deadly Ground just for this scene alone:

Isn't Under Siege 2: Dark Territory one of the two movies (the other one being My Father The Hero, if I remember correctly) that got you into Katherine Heigl, Mike?

Also, off topic, but what do you think of Shiri Appleby, Emilie de Ravin and Majandra Delfino (Katherine Heigl's former Roswell co-stars)?

It would be nice if Warner released a box set of early remastered Seagal movies like Above The Law, Hard To Kill, Out For Justice, Under Siege, Under Siege 2, On Deadly Ground, The Glimmer Man, and Fire Down Below.

I hate boxsets of movies not in the same series, so that sounds annoying. Would love remasters of the 5-6 Seagal movies I care about though. I doubt Warner is interested however, best hope there is they start licensing and someone like Shout Factory does a new scan.

I don't think it sounds annoying at all. They might not be movies from the same series, but they are the same type of movies for the most part with the same actor. I would have included Marked For Death, but that wasn't a Warner Brothers movie, it was 20th Century Fox.

I would be down for a remastered box set like that. I was looking up reviews of those early Seagal movies and was surprised to see how low most of them rated for PQ. I think Hard to Kill was the only one that got a 4.0 while the rest varied between 2-3.

Ya a lot of those movies were released very early in the format. Hard To Kill was released a little later than the others. The others look and sound pretty bad on blu-ray. Most of them don't even have lossless audio. That's why it would be nice to see a remastered set.

Packaging tastes aside my main point was Warner is never going to bother doing that. If they ever start licensing to anyone but Criterion then we can hope for remasters.

Was this movie Seagal's last big hit? It grossed about 105 million dollars against a budget (reported) of 60 million dollars.

With home video, rentals and ancillary's, his last "solo hit" was EXIT WOUNDS 20 years ago. The last successful film that he was in (though not the star) was MACHETE over a decade ago.

Yeah, you're right.
That said, was US2 a hit anyway? I guess so.

It was. There was still a robust ancillary market at the time (not so much now), so between sales, rentals, tv and airline licensing rights, etc., it did fine.
