I found out the source of my shipping problems wasn't Tower but the incompetent local Postal Service. My packages had been in "holding" for over two weeks because my mailman was too lazy to deliver them. I had to go down to the Post Office and pick them up myself. My guess is the packages would still be down there if I hadn't gone myself.

Saginaw? Hell yeah! Rep

but yeah, I received my movies a couple days after b!tching on here and guess what? They all came together in one large box labeled Tower.com haha... No wonder they took so long. The package wouldn't fit in my mail box, so I had wait for a day off in order to answer the door and take them inside. They all came in perfect shape.

I recently ordered Afro Samurai from Tower, and it took about a week and a half to receive it using standard shipping.

I ordered Batman Begins on Tower.com and got it 4 days later on standard shipping. I ordered a CD on Wednesday and got it Saturday, standard shipping. I guess it could be the area you live in.

Well I still don't have it. I finally ordered it from amazon. I sent Tower an e-mail telling them I figure it's lost and if I could get a refund and I have not heard from them yet.

I remember reading one story of a mailman that hoarded mail in his house because his job was "too demanding" or something like that, he only got caught when he was seen dumping mail in the garbage, lol. I think it was in a country in Europe or something.

That's pretty much what I'm seeing from them, too. I generally receive my order (standard shipping) 3 or 4 days after they send the shipping confirmation e-mail.

Still haven't received it as of 10/6. I contacted Tower.com in late September and they said they'd send another one. Do things really get lost in the mail?

Not as often as Tower claims they do. Although, I have to admit, my opinion of Tower is a little biased, based on my experiences, and on the fact that IMHO their business philosophies make Enron look laudable and their customer service in about as bad as it gets--in fact, it makes Samsung look like they deserve an award. Tower is a company run by crooks who have no qualms about shaving a few dollars off of the top of your order and claiming they shipped it but hey, the Post office couldn't deliver to your perfectly functioning mailbox (my mailman has never given us problems before)...and then, of course, ignoring your multiple attempts to contact them.

But that's just me (end rant).

P.S.: I think we need an emoticon flipping the bird. I'm sure it would get overused, but right now that is the most fitting image of the message I would love to send Tower.

Tower.com slow? Yeah...extremely slow! My Shoot 'Em Up was shipped (according to a tower.com email) on Sep 10 and I've not yet received it!
I just cannot figure out, if amazon can deliver anything across the Pacific Ocean in 8 days, why 30 days (or even more) with tower??

Yeah, their shipping for particular titles is bad. I know there are a lot of people in Australia waiting on their Transformers from there (myself included). Mine "shipped" on the 11 September, and still hasn't arrived, but I've had three separate orders that shipped after it arrive. I'm starting to wonder if it actually shipped.

They can, but personally I've had maybe two things not arrive in 10 years of online ordering. I have a very secure large post box at home. And one of those items that didn't arrive I'm 99% certain it never shipped (it was from blackstar, back in the days when they used to ship a separate invoice to the billing address, and I didn't get the invoice either. I doubt it ever left them).

I have just started using Tower.com and ordering with the fastest delivery to Melbourne Australia, and have been waiting just over 2 weeks to receive the first disc of 3 I ordered, which they also say was posted last of the 3 from their dispatch.

I also ordered Iron Man which they said they posted and then 6 days later emailed me saying it had been recalled and I was refunded only the disc cost, not the extra $9.99 I paid for fast delivery. Should I believe they sent the disc and only refunded the price believing it would be faulty upon arriving? Or just email them requesting the postage refund? has anyone had this happen to them and actually received their copy?

I have used dvdboxoffice for years now and will most likely return to them as even though they are more expense I get my order in 1 - 2 weeks.

You just wait for two weeks? Be patient, dude, patience is a virtue.

Regarding the Iron Man, I'm at the same boat with you. I placed my order on Sep 17. Tower has sent me an email confirming shipping the next day and refunded me after five days. The problem is, has tower really shipped the disc?? I've heard that these 'defective' discs are working fine on PS3, which is my blu-ray player.
Buy or not to buy another Iron Man?? This really bothers me because I'm not sure if I can really receive something from tower.
BTW I suggest you write immediately to tower and they will definitely refund the poatage.

I know something about dvdboxoffice, it's expensive. Why not amazon US or UK? They are trustworthy.

I find the whole idea of them "shipping" an item and then recalling it basically ludicrous. Someone did sort of indicate that maybe dodgy business practices (ie charging people on shipping but not shipping, and then having 30 business days use of the persons money before "reshipping" the lost item). I find myself in two minds of it. The thing that makes me believe this might be the case is that Transformers apparently shipped the same day I ordered it. That in itself is utterly unprecedented with tower. Even when I've ordered stuff showing in stock ships 12h, it's always taken at least two days to get a shipping notice. The thing that makes me doubt the false ship practice is that it is not in their interest. You are talking at least 2 months where I'm not going to place another order with them, and very doubtful I'll place it with them after.

If I didn't have three other subsequent orders turn up from them in the last week, AND I didn't hear of other people in the same boat with the same title, I'd have just written it off as a postal anomaly. But as it is, I can't say I'll place another order with them. I'm just very suspicious of the whole situation.

They more than likely stopped delievery on the packages (yes, you can actually do that). If you request a refund for shipping, they should give you one. At least they did with me and were super friendly about it as well.

Hey, just thought i'd chime in.

I ordered Transformers from tower.com to be shipped to Australia over a month ago and I paid for priority international shipping. Its due out locally tomorrow and I still havent recieved my order. I sent an email last week asking about it, all I received was a one liner 'we apologize for the delay'. Very helpful.

I'll never buy from them again. I have also made it a personal mission to warn people about the shoddy service. I hope no-one else gets screwed.

Cheers

And on 10/7 Dark City finally came. And it wasn't even backordered. For those counting, that's more than 40 days to deliver from wherever Tower ships from to the suburbs of Washington D.C. So... I think the answer is yes, Tower.com is slow.
