What the hell does that even mean? Are you inferring that there are some directors that no idea what they want the movie to look like? Wouldn't that defeat the idea of having a director in the first place?

The DC is actually enjoyable, at least as much as the overhyped 2 first X-men movies who were more about the mental and social condition of mutants than a superhero movie. Daredevil doesn't have incredible powers, he has strong human values and courage and that's all the film showed.
I'd be happy Blu-ray.com could get some new, perhaps less professional reviewers, as I won't even read any film opinion of Mr Liebman, maybe just the PQ and AQ comments.
+1. I know better by now, but find myself continually dissapointed. It's too bad when you when you make it status quo to gloss over the film review portion.
I'm really suprised at the venom directed to Farrell as well, as even people I know who still take exception to the fleshed out DC of Daredevil seem to always point to Bullseye as one of the bright spots of the film. As a earlier poster mentioned, Bullseye is an obnoxious dick, and I thought Colin's portrayal was spot on, not to mention he was obviously having a load of fun playing the character and that makes the performance pretty enjoyable. Whatever I guess.

Whats with the Farrell hate in the review?? Also is the reviewer even a fan of Daredevil? As clearly he is not familiar with Frank Millers Daredevil arc and the death of Electra at the hands of Bullseye which is a "Classic" storyline. And any DD fan will tell you Bullseye is one of his best enemies.

My response to the negative Blu-ray.com review was to immediately move DD: The DC from my amazon wish list to my cart and bought it.

Fortunately, we all don't always agree on what we like.

I really like Daredevil. Of course it's no Iron Man, but it's still a good movie. And as someone stated earlier, I enjoyed it a lot more than those over hyped X-Men movies. I'll be picking this one up, along with Iron Man.

I thought the DC was a big improvement. Less Elektra, the better.

I really don't know how the playground fight was green lighted.

The review isn't negative, it is objective, certainly as far as the writer is concerned.

The film criticism isn't the only portion of the review that matters. If general film criticism is the only criterion you are concerned with then I believe that you are a minority on this site. When reading a Blu-ray review, as well as a DVD-review, one should take into consideration the technical evaluation as well as the film synopsis the reviewer has provided before making an important decision. And looking at these two I am unsure how one could conclude that the review is negative.

Default Running Times?

I tried looking this up here and other places but couldn't find it....but I just purchased the Director's Cut of the movie and noticed the running time was 124min but the running time of the Director's Cut DVD is 133min. Does anybody have any information regarding the two, like major differences or any information in general about the 2 different times? Thanks for your help

hahaha oh man i love how on the bluray cover it is emphasized in big letters "featuring JOHN FAVREAU--DIRECTOR OF IRON MAN," almost as if the studios knew sales for daredevil were going to tank and they had to try and use a successful marvel movie to sell this one. i love it.

reminds me of the DVD cover for Bad Taste that printed "FROM THE DIRECTOR OF LORD OF THE RINGS" across the top in large print.

Finally watched this movie in full last night for the first time on BR, and really enjoyed it. Its definitely one of those 'leave your brain at the door' movies, but I forgot just how good the audio is on this disc. The DTS soundtrack on the DVD was impressive, but holy WOW!!, DTS-HD on BR takes this soundtrack to a new level. The fight scene in the bar is now my 'go to' for reference surround sound activity/placement and bass.

I thought it was a fairly good movie...and the directors cut I thought was way better than the theatrical. Check your brain at the door and just have some fun for 2 hrs.

Holy thread ressurection Batman

Just to say I've just read Mr. Liebmann's review of Daredevil Directors cut and am astonished. I really didn't like this movie when it came out but seldom have I seen a movie where a DC makes such a profound difference. Maybe only Payback-Straight Up does similar.

1.5 for this movie is beyond harsh. It's not a classic but the DC is extremely enjoyable and I just wanted to get that off my chest.

I will concede that Farrell is still rubbish however
