I picked this up today at Best Buy for $5.99. The picture and sound quality is identical to the Alliance disc. The Echo Bridge release has the "making of" feature which the Alliance disc is lacking, but it drops the French audio track. Neither release has subtitles, unfortunately. For $5.99, if you like the film, it's worth buying.

So I randomly saw this at my local Best Buy bargain bin and was like, WTF? when did this come out on blue-ray. I was almost about to buy it but on the back it said the audio was just dolby digital with no mention of a lossless track so I held off until I looked up some reviews to find out more. So this is the same release right. It has DTS-HD even though it doesn't say so on the box?

When I saw the making of feature on the original DVD back in the day, I remember it saying essentially that there was no "correct" language for the film, but they actually had the motion capture actors act in English because French and other European actors are more used to doing dubs.

For the time being, yes. Excellent picture quality, DTS-HD MA 5.1 and 2.0, Dolby Digital 5.1

Quite frankly, after seeing some scenes in French on the making-of (from the DVD and carried to the US BD), the English audio is stronger and more effective in those scenes.

I guess maybe the English dub is more acceptable than I thought, but I still think most people would consider this a French film.
I just wish the French audio had also been included with English subs, but with this title coming from Echo Bridge........well of course it is not.
