Default RIP Rear Projection TV

It appears Samsung will not produce any more RP DLP sets after the current production run of 2008 sets ends sometime in 2009. It looks like the Mitsubishi DLP sets may be the last rear projection sets manufactured. However I have not read anything about Mitsubishi's plans for 2009.

with the price of LCD and Plasma technology gone down dramatically with in the last year I can see why Samsung has decided not to produce DLP RP TV's anymore .

Front projection is where all the fun is.

Try it,... you might like it.

Having switched from a 1080i RPTV recently, I won't be missing it.
Interesting news none the less.

I guess I'll be picking up a nice 65" DLP before they are no longer. Currently have a 50" Sammy(720) Was planning on upgrading later on but I guess I will have to move that upgrade up. Or I could skip the 65" and go ahead and set up a projector.

Interesting... I looked them up but don't see any dispay devices. Their website is not so easy to navigate. Do that make display devices?

At any rate... glad you found something you like.

You seem to think Front PJ is nice I think Halcro Seperates are nice thats all just an opnion .... One that has nothing to do with the death of rear projection

May have to get a second one & keep it in storage as a back up.

I had a 50 inch Toshiba DLP 2 years ago. I absolutely loved it. Til this day, I regret letting it go, but needed $. I wanna get the Samsung LED DLP one. That one looks nice.

til then, I'll enjoy my LN630 TOC!

I've been enjoying the hell out of my Samsung 56A650. Not LED but it was also only 899 NEW.

Rear projection is not dead yet. Mitsubishi just announced their 2009 lineup which includes 60, 65 73, and 82" DLP's.
