Really it didn't sound harse at all ... as I'm one of the few that is able to enjoy the movies that have not been released on DB. Frankly I am not disappointed on supporting both formats ... as I currently own 78 HD DVD and 121 Blu-Ray.
Wow! Nice amount of HD titles there.

Amazon says the same thing for Blu-ray (MLP Lossless is TrueHD)

They don't say anything for audio on DVDTown for the Blu-ray version.

Looks like we're 2 for 2 on matching stats.

I think DrinkMore should be applauded for his honesty.

He has come here and said that his preference for HD-DVD over Blu-ray is because he doesn't like Sony rather than trying to insult our intelligence by claiming that HD-DVD compares favourably to Blu-ray.

I reckon 95% of HD-DVD fanboys are such because they don't like Sony, however most won't admit that. DrinkMore has. Good on him for his honesty I say.....

Furthermore when you hear the hype on the various High Def forums, there seems to be much more pro HD-DVD than pro Blu-ray. However when you look at sales, Blu-ray is killing HD-DVD. What that tells me is that it costs nothing to act out your bias against Sony on a forum, but when it comes to putting your hand in your pocket and buying into one format or the other, many of the pro-HD-DVD brigade are suddenly found wanting. The ones who do buy into Hd-DVD are either people who've been suckered by the hype or who want to (can afford to) support there personal bias financially.

When a movie comes out on both formats I always get it on DB than HD... but I just can't seem to make up my mind on Planet Earth. I guess I'll make a choice at Best Buy tomorrow when I buy it. Unless someone can change my mind here... as long as it isn't the usual reply of "because DB is better".

Personally, I don't care to extend this format war any longer than is absolutely necessary. By buying the losing format's version, you (and of course others) are helping to extend it's lifespan. So, I guess it comes down to whether you are fighting for the good of everyone or just yourself. I hope that didn't sound harsh, but it's just the truth.
