I've had to do it a few times, and that's why I watch only Blu-rays at home instead of going to the theater.

I know, the couple of times I have I always felt kind of bad about it. Usually I would just ask to go into another film and all is cool.

I walked out of U571 at the scene where the Germans started machine gunning the survivors in the water. One documented case of that in the entire war and they choose to include it while conveniently ignoring the fact that the Allies had plenty of their own atrocities which they committed.

God I hate Hollywood!

I was forced to walk out of Cloverfield because my significant other was getting motion sick from the camera work... only then did we find out we were about 80 minutes through a 90-some minute movie... very sad, still haven't seen the end yet.

I walked out on Transformers. I hated the movie soo bad that I told the manager there were kids talking behind me and I couldn't enjoy it. He then gave me a pass to see it again and I sold it to a friend. Although later on my wife dragged me to see it and I couldn't back out of it then. I had to sit through what seemed like 4 hours of hell.

I actually haven't seen this yet, so I can't reply towards the film...but nice call on making up that story to get the pass!

Default I walked out of ...

My wife and I left "Dr. T & The Women" when we realized we could catch a later showing of something else. That movie was awful.

How much did you see before you left? Just curious.

I'd rather not say. In the grand scheme of things, it wouldn't be offensive to anyone else, but when you're watching with many devout Christians, and the likable main character is cheating on his wife, lusting after women, etc, we all just got fed up with it and turned it off. No regrets. I try to stay away from movies that encourage lust.

The rental place gave us a full refund.

I remember when I was a kid a friend and I went to see this movie called Def-con 4. We weren't enjoying it so instead of getting a refund we slipped into another movie. One of those teen sex comedies we were to young for.

Default theaters suck

Wife and I walked out of The Sixth Sense. Only movie ever. (seen worse)
One other bad experience - My chair kept getting kicked from behind. I turned around two different times and politely asked the kicker to stop. Nope, eventually started kicking again. So I stood up, turned around, and yelled, "IF YOU KICK MY CHAIR ONE MORE TIME I'M GONNA RIP YOUR F***ING FACE OFF!" It worked! Still feel guilty about that one for affecting the rest of the audience with my rage. It's OK because now I only stay home and watch Blu-Rays. To be quite honest, movies at the theater look incredibly blurry compared to Blu-Rays.

Thats quite a story. To be truthful I would say that alot of us have had similar experiences, I know I have. And you are so right on, I go to the movies less and less...one reason is that blu-rays looks so much clearer and nothing beats the comforts of home.

Walked out of Sum Of All Fears, asked for a refund. Only reason was because one of the speakers (can't recall which, possibly the center) was dead. Couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. Saw it later, elsewhere, it was okay if a bit hard to swallow at the end.

A few others either because the movie sucked or just wasn't into it at all (only one I can remember was Cruising, which qualified as both (as much of it as I saw, anyway).

Your not alone on feeling like Sum Of All Fears was rubbish. One nameless reviewer writes:

I can't believe that Clancy actually put his name on this film. There's so few ties to the book, that it shouldn't even share the same name. Ben Affleck is terrible and for some reason, his character has gone back in time to the point where he doesn't actually have a place in the movie. It seemed like the studio wanted to remake Red October and couldn't figure it out how post-cold war. Its understandable that the studio would have to compromise a lot of the scope of the novel to fit it into 2 hours, but everything that's been rewritten (from the villians, the setting, and the protagonist) is absurd. Id you don't have enough time to read the novel (900+ pages), you can at least see some neat explosions in the movie.

Beowulf.....It was the worst movie I have seen in the theater, I then understood why my friend gave me the free ticket. I was in real pain cause it sucked so hard, I just played on my phone my buddy liked it I told him it was hard to be his friend.
