And although the rumored SCREAM 4 sounds like a disaster, it may get Dimension moving on a bluray set of those films too!
Scream 4 has been rumored for years. Neve Campbell and Wes Craven aren't interested. Let's hope they just leave it as a trilogy.

Has already been done. Lame @$$ comedy from the 80's. Unless you want yet another remake?

I already own the individual releases of the flicks on DVD, but I will update with the boxset.

I wonder if Paramount will make the first movie rated for the boxset to not upset the people who already bought the first one uncut. Wouldn't be a bad idea.

I really only cared for the first four. I can pass on this.

How could you not like part 4? That's one of the best, and was the last one where Jason was actually scary. All these films are at least mindless fun. Even though most are bad movies, they still have great rewatch value (see part 7).

Producer's Cut! Oh how I would love a part 6 special edition blu-ray with both versions. I think a Dimension set (6, H20, Resurrection, RZH) is our best chance since they will be releasing H2 this fall, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Too bad Paramount and Warner Bros are not teaming up on this. It seems like they have been teaming up a lot lately on both Curious Case of Benjamin Button and the reboot for Friday the 13th. Too bad that they are not going all in and putting in all the films, both Paramount and New Line/Warner Bros. Hopefully they do it on BD-50 and do as they did with the From Crystal Lake to Manhattan DVD Boxset that puts 2 films on 1 disc. That'd save some shelf space for sure.

No, hopefully they put each film on a BD-50 and maximize picture and sound quality, and stuff each film with extras.

+1 totally agree. Paramount is doing a great job. Hopefully this is true and we get all 8 optimized and loaded with special features. It would also be good if they are working with NL to have the remaining ones released at the same time. That would be amazing.

I can't wait for this. Glad Paramount is showing fans the love by releasing these on blu. I'm not a fan of part 8, but it was funny watching muppet Jason at the end being melted by toxic waste.

Confession: other than Jason X, I have never seen any other FT13th movies. Would this box set be worth a blind buy? I heard the series got a little ridiculous after the second one, but I'm hoping they're violent campy flicks at least.

IMO, Jason X was worse than the first 8 (except for maybe part 5).

And this is old news, already being discussed in another F13 thread.

I will buy this blu-ray set. To be honest, I never loved the first movie. It was ok, but I fell in love with part 2 and 3. They did get kind of ridiculous in the middle, but they were still campy, fun movies to watch. I am going to agree ... I loved Jason X. It was what it was - no Oscar movie, just a fun Jason film. The same goes for Freddy Vs. Jason.
I saw the new movie last night ... didn't love it. I didn't hate it, either. I didn't like that Jason is so advanced. I guess too many details takes some of the mystery away. It didn't have a Friday the 13th feel. It seemed more like "Rest Stop" or one of the hundred other "crazy degenerate killer in the woods" movies.
That being said ... parts were still really good.

Great news. Now just let's hope they will all be uncut, and number 3 in 3D.

I'll probably rebuy it. I got the original boxset on release day.

Saw the new one last night and loved it. Super violent, Jason being a complete psychopath, and all the pieces that came out of the originals that were tied in to keep it campy.
