fun feature for those considering this movie, you can actually mark your favourite clips so you can watch them again and again whenever you want. I don't think that's a universal blu-ray feature.

It has been a Universal feature, you can also share the clips with your friends on the internet. Which sounds like a valuable way to use your time!

I have got to remember to stop somewhere and pick this up today. I may slide by a Walmart to see if they have it since it's $5 cheaper than Best Buy but if they don't have it, I'll bite the bullet and head to the land of Yellow & Blue.

OK this thread seems to pretty old but I don't think I am allowed to start a new one.

I bought the German retail version and on the back it said that the music video for "Superman" by Eminem would be uncencored, but as a matter of fact it is not. Is this the same with the US or any other international version?

I've never met Eminem personally but from what I've heard, he's a humble and kind guy. The opposite of his songs.

Recently re-watched 8 Mile on Blu. Excellent film, and great PQ on the Blu.

I had 0 interest in Rap music or Eminem before first seeing the film about 7 years ago. But, the film is so well-done & the story so compelling that it doesn't really matter if you're fan of this type of music or not - you can still enjoy the film on it's own merits.

The city of Detroit may as well be another character in the film.

My favorite scene is towards the end, when Eminem gets into the final rap "battle" and predicts the insults his opponent is going to use against him, then uses those in the song he himself comes up with - thereby taking away the power of the insults....and then proceeds to tear down the opponent by making fun of the fact that he goes to a private college, questioning his "street cred", etc. - hilarious, and very clever.

The supporting cast is also incredible in this film, including Mekhi Phifer, Kim Basinger, and the late Brittany Murphy.

I picked up an 8 Mile steelbook today at Big Lots 20% off sale.

Sadly, the digital code doesn't work anymore...boo on Universal.

Couldn't find any copies at my local store or else I'd have picked it up too. I rewatched this on Netflix last year and really enjoyed it, wouldn't mind owning it.

I bought the steelbook last year, and both the UV and iTunes codes still worked.

If they put this out on 4K I’d pick it up. I assume it was shot on film, so with a good transfer it should look great.

Watched it again. A true classic in its own right with Eminem and Brittany Murphy.

Speaking of Brittany Murphy, it feels somehow painful to see her on the movie. I loved her as an actress back then and she just didn't deserve to die that young. Hell, her husband passed away the same way she did so there's something strange about their deaths.

RIP BM.

Compared to how she looked in just married she looked extremely strung out.

BM was very hot in 8 Mile. She had a very sexy/trashy look in the movie, and I mean that as a compliment.
