I work right next to the Stanley (the Shining) hotel in Estes Park, Co. So the drive in the mountains that you see at the beginning of the movie, I do twice a day 5 days a week. Winter can be brutal in the Rockies.

White Juan, snow storm named after Hurricane Juan(that hit Fall 2003) that hit in Feb 2004 in Nova Scotia... worst thing I have ever lived through in my life... Couldn't move or do anything for days...

I was in Orlando on vacation when Hurricane Charley hit a few years back (Aug 2004) - that was the worst of it I had experienced. Yeah, there has been snow blizzards where feet of snow have fallen and everything was closed for days until the city (Philly) could dig out but never had it bad where utilities were gone for days or anything similar to some of those that were hit head on by hurricanes or tornadoes.

Exactly. The trade-off of very mild winters is more than worth maybe having to board up and leave. Of course N.E. Florida hasn't had a major strike in years. Our time is coming though.
