Actually, I felt the show went uphill after the first few episodes. I was about to stop watching after the first few episodes, but things started to pick up after episode 4.

What are you talking about? The "reboot" has begun yet. This season is still the old guys' at the wheel. Even then, it will take a while for the new guys to get a chance to truly get a chance to get their influence in.

I don't think that is what he was saying. The writers strike forced them to end the series abruptly and tie off a lot of strings quickly which, of course, left a lot of people feeling underwhelmed. It was quite obvious the ending was rushed and lots of things left out.

Season II actually started out strong, then ended with a whimper.

The show has a LOT of faults - but continues to be a guilty pleasure. However, I'd love if more competent hands were at the wheel. They miss so many opportunities (Heroes not using their powers in smart ways, having some fun superhero battles, etc.)

I have a rule about TV shows, {and it's rare that I break it} after the first episode if it's engaging and fairly entertaining {it could just be fluff as long as it's entertaining} I'll keep watching.

Watching 4 episodes {even if they were as excruciatingly bad as the first one} is completely out of the question.

By not taking risks and at least giving the audience some reason to be worried about the BIG threat every season I have no reason to care for this show if I know every season they're going to prevail. Sometimes the villains need to win some battles. If anything, the show could have had the good guys come up short since they WERE still new heroes discovering their powers. Build season two as a recovery how they learn to get better and better. Instead, we got them all saving the world without issue, where do you go from there? Equal threats, equal resolutions? Same season over and over again? Plus Peter and Nathan flying away and the anticlimatic Sylar fight was just horrible. My sister called me right at the end and I just told her "I'm done". Which wasn't true cause I watched the first two or three of season two and THEN bailed entirely.

I don't think NBC will cancel it, this is the same channel that hung on to Scrubs all those seasons! If this were Fox, it would have been cancelled a year ago.
Scrubs has a loyal base, and it does decent in ratings.

I understand that - I was just letting you know why some might say "It was a good show". It started pretty bad - quickly got better - had a huge let down of an ending (I know so many people who wouldn't watch season 2 after the ending of season 1) - and was never able to come back.

I enjoy Heroes, my only complain with Season 2 was that it too short because of the strike, otherwise it was great.

I am still watching, but I agree, it has gone down hill. I think the first season was interesting because it had a nice and simple plot. Save the cheerleader to save the world. On the other hand after that it got extremely muddled and extremely fast. The first season brought a bunch of different people together and after that they sent them all their separate way. What is also most annoying is that way too often things just happen and once past that they are forgotten. It feels like a bunch of useless patches (known as episodes). Half way demolished plane crashes but somehow every one walked out OK, the good guys had time to escape and the bad guys came after them, Nathan comes back from the dead (and none of us know how) becomes mr. religious nut and then stops.

Just found out through tvseriesfinale.com that NBC is still on the fence on bringin the show back. If they do it will be for only 13 episodes. This is sad, the first half of season one was great, but wne downhill big time after the season one finale. I have never been more disappointed in a show. It had so much promise.

I finally just admitted to myself on Monday night that I don't have fun watching this show and skipped it all together. I of course recorded it just in case I'd change my mind but still haven't watched it.

According to comingsoon.net Heroes got signed to do 18 episodes for season 4.

Now I've watched this show from the get go and obviously people have problems with this show. Here are some of mine:

Season 1: everyone will agree that this was a great show, mysterious, well implemented, dark, new people with new powers were introduced for good and bad, made EVERYONE hoping for that finale...Then they dropped the ball, BIG time. Also, lots of the parents powers were exposed except for Hiro's dad. Anyone else pick up on that?

Season 2: personally, I felt the whole season was a cluster*uck. I never liked any of the episodes the whole season along with the story line is a wash.

Part 1 Season 3: it was interesting to see the conversations with Linderman & Peter's dad and how that played out for Nathan. But when he started sucking in powers to have them that made me want to throw a coke at the tv. I was glad he got killed. Atleast that was some sort of conclusion.

Part 2: right now claire is being turned into the Harriet Tubman for people with abilites. Plus she's turned into a whiny ***** this season. Also, what happened to the Haitian? Or Molly? Not to mention sylar's long and winding trek (no pun intended) to find his dad that'll last till seasons end. Oh and why is the scientist all normal now, with his powers, and Peter can only hold one at a time when before he was a 'sponge'.

It's getting a bit lame. They need to fish or cut bait... Or the viewers will cut bait for them.

We all have our own opinions....... you may agree or disagree with mine. I watched Heros from the beginning and really liked the show...... Save the cheerleader, save the world..... BUT......as season two began.....I just thought there were too many characters, and the plot kept bouncing all over the place. Who were the good guys..who were the bad guys... If they could have had just a few characters it would have been easier to follow along. I dunno.. for me.. it just kinda got weird. I am now watching 24.

I can't even fathom that it got *worse* after that.

Default Stopped watching

I used to be a faithful viewer of Heroes too.

I never missed an episode since the opener. But this season was just to flip-flop - Sylar is good then he's bad. The one that bothers me the most is Nathan - just lame writing.

I'll rent on blu next fall and watch the rest of this season - but no more watching it on Monday nights (I have no DVR - I use OTA antenna).

So Lost is the only show for me.

Wow, you guys are really harsh! I never watched the show at all, but i caught up to seasons 1-3 on netflix hd streaming on the 360 all back to back, it took me a few days of non-stop watching lol. By the time i finished volume 3, volume 4 was weeks away from airing on tv, so thats where i am timeline wise.

First off, i absolutely LOVE the show. And im not blind about its problems. They messed up in so many ways! Like why does blondie have to be 3 different characters? What in all heck was the point of the black chick!! Worst character ever, especially with the katrina crap. Hiro in ancient times was slow and boring. The brother/sister tag team sucked (although she was very attractive). Pappa patrelli was a disaster in everyway (i can only think of Max Cherry Bail Bonds when i see him!). They need to have syler cut claires head off from the neck, she drags down the show so much its insane. And more im sure.

With all that said, its still an amazing show with a fun cast of characters and super powers. And volume 4 has been pretty great so far, especially with angela manipulating like she does best. Im of the opinion that it all gets better from here, even tho here right now is WAY better then season 2 and 3 for sure. They better renew the show to let the season 1 producer get time to really bring it back to the old success it really was.

I thought the finale was awesome. I don't watch heroes to see X-Men style fights, even tho the ones provided are short but sweet. It showed how they are actually heroes by using their powers in combination with each other. About hiros dad, I was thinking about this as i was reading the thread. Perhaps he didn't have a power?

Season 2 was OK. They added too much and they were short on time. I can forgive it due to the writers strike, but only because of that.

yah, Pappa Patrelli was a disaster on so many levels. He really killed every scene he was in. Linderman was a AWESOME character i thought. And why would you get pissed at Pappa P stealing powers? Thats his power!

We dont know why Rebel keeps sending people to claire right now. Im sure it will be explained why. And yes, shes incredibly whiny and has been so since season 1. I also wondered what happened to the haitian and molly, but i think they cut down the number of people to keep things a little more easy to follow for right now. Im sure we'll hear about them again at some point.

Sylar will find his dad and deal with him on this coming mondays episode. We'll see that come to an end very quickly. Also, Sylar and
[Show spoiler]The Hunter
work together a few episodes in. Its going to get really awesome. And suresh isnt 100% normal with his power, same with peter. On the show, people gain powers based on what they need in life. Peter wanted to help everyone, so he got the power he needs to do that. Suresh wanted to have to feel powerful and be extraordinary, he got that. Ando wanted to help out Hiro, so he has the power to supercharge others powers. etc etc. What happened to suresh before was he got the formula wrong obviously, and then injecting himself with the proper formula brought him into where he is now, no side effects but the power he wants remains. Peter just wants revenge right now, so his powers reflect the lack of ability to hold onto anything more then one. Just like sylar eventually used empathy to take the lightning power without killing that chick, im sure we'll see the same happen to peter.

I hope people will continue to hang on, the show has been great so far and is just going to lead up to bigger and better things. I still watch it every monday, always looking forward to it.
