Default The Mighty Mouse

So what are your thoughts on the new Mighty Mouse from Apple? Do you think it will change the way people use the peripheral?

Judging by the looks of its shape, I would say that its ergonomics aren't all that great when compared to other mouses (or do you say "mice" when talking about a computer mouse? I don't really know ). That is based solely on how it looks; I haven't actually tried it yet. One thing I do like from a conceptual standpoint is its ability to scroll without a mousewheel. I can't wait to try it.

I love the touchpad on my Macbook Pro. I love the idea of incorporating it into the mouse. I think it will be awesome.

I like the new mouse BUT, it's bluetooth. And my Mac Pro doesnt have Bluetooth built in If it did, I'd buy it.

It's not a Mighty Mouse!!!!

It's called the Magic Mouse.

I wonder if they got sued, and decided to go for a new name.

I'm all for getting a nice BT keyboard and mouse, to save one of the USB ports on my computer (currently the mouse is plugged into the keyboard, so together they only use one port on the computer).

The mouse is $69, not sure what the keyboard will go for.

Isn't this the one without the trackball on the mouse itself?

If such is the case, I'm out.

a girl touched my mouse recently and made both my trackballs react, it's quite sensitive apparently.

My bad, yeah it's the Magic mouse.

My only issue with all of these is that why don't they make rechargeable battery packs for them? Or that wireless recharge pad that came out so it can charge wirelessly?

If you are really into the new mouse, you can get these tiny, tiny, tiny USB to Bluetooth adapters by IOGEAR (or probably just about any other brand) for less than $20.

Check it out.

I'm actually using a standard size one from D-Link with my Mighty Mouse (not the new mouse) on my older generation iMac whence I'm typing now, and it works great.

I have that kind, its a Logitech. I want to get Bluetooth though but everyone charges so much for install.

I can always count on you for something good.

Back on topic though, I think the new Magic Mouse looks neat, but as I'm running OS X 10.4.11 I couldn't use it anyway apparently. Besides, I gave up on the POS Mighty Mouse a while back and started using a Logitech MX1000 laser mouse, and so far I have no reason to stop using it.

I'm the same way, my Mighty Mouse is sitting in a box on my bookshelf.

Speaking of Macs...I'm in the market for a Macbook pro. Anyone have any advice for me? Should I buy directly from Apple? I'm probably going to go with the 15" 17" is too big..I just wish they went along with the blu-ray drives...oh well.

If you aren't afraid of it, try Craigslist. I got my iMac from a guy who was upgrading to a MacPro, so the iMac was only a couple months old (though still the current model), and I paid less than half of what Apple charges for them.

I could tell the guy took care of his stuff, because he asked if I had any blankets in my car to wrap it in, and after finding out I didn't, he gave me a free blanket with the computer.

I forgot about that option..however, I am looking for a new one. I just checked my area and nothing really jumped out at me. I find it hilarious that I'm looking for a Mac now that W7 is out. I figured I'd switch it up for a bit. Don't have any Mac's yet.
