my vote goes to idris elba. will smith is soft, i had to cut off i, robot because i couldn't buy him being a badass.

As long as he is British, not American. Sorry but Will Smith lack's the the British style that Bond need's to have in order to play him. He's got many order role he can play, leave Bond to British actors.

I'd rather have a movie about this man:

Josh Brolin apparently did a good job playing him in the biopic film. I haven't seen it yet, on my to see list. But, Dave did a good job.

+1 I agree totally,If they wanna black Bond,Chewetel Ejiofor would be great since he IS British and was great in the very underated Redbelt,Lennie James or Robbie Gee from Snatch could also be possible candidates. +2, Will Smith is my favorite actor, but I think someone who isn't as big a star as he is, like Chewetel Ejiofor, would be great!

agreed about Chewetel. he has the aura of intelligence, sophistication, and intensity to pull it off. Same with Djimon Hounsou. Instead of replacing the current 007 they could do another character in the same agency, another 00. if it took off you could do one for different parts of the world.

Staham would be horrible though, he comes across like a one track thug. not bond material imo

Wow, don't know who this guy is, but he's cute! And if he starts speaking in a British accent, I think I will just die!

The only way there could be a black bond would be if James Bond was actually killed, but then the new guy would be 008, and not James Bond. Like others have said, there are 22 movies that already feature a white british man. No substitution at this point.

Smith would be a cool bond...I heard P diddy wanted to be the first black bond also lol.

But why does bonds color matter? I mean it would probably be a bigger deal if there was a black batman or black superman right? i dunno catwoman was black (halle) and i was fine with it...I would just have to see how it all panned out i guess...I was ok with the kingpin being black in daredevil and at first i didnt think i would.

All in all...if they do make a black bond..which would probably sell pretty good and be something new....i would say will smith he is pretty much a likeable actor for all audiences.
