Just came back. Thought it was excellent except the last two minutes. Michael C Hall gave one heck of a performance, and the sound/picture will be reference. It felt slimmed down for time on certain scenes.

I'm probably seeing this tomorrow so I have to ask; is this "excellent" in a "turn off your brain and enjoy the action" or just excellent in a general sense?

Also, while I like Michael C. HAll a lot, his accent sounds bad but I'm glad to read you think he did well.

I'll be seeing it tomorrow afternoon around 5.

How was Butler's performance?

Did the slim down feeling really mess up the flow of the film? Or was it more of a "this could have been expanded more" sort of feeling?

That. It felt like they had more scenes but they cut them out for time.

Butler was good too. Hall stood out more though, especially a certain scene near the end. you'll know the one.

Also, it was worth admission to see a slayer T-bag his kill Halo 3 style.

I just checked the runtime and saw that it is barely over 1.5 hours
I'm sure they trimmed some stuff for sure. We'll probably see it for the blu-ray release.

NO WAY!

Yeah an Uncut edition is likely.

And yep. That was one of the best parts of the movie. I almost yelled out "TRIPLE KILL" often. Or "BOOM! HEADSHOT!"

I want to see this movie, it won't be a classic but it'll be a ton of fun.

GS, you should add a poll. please.

I saw it on Friday and I still don't know if I liked it or not because I really don't know what I watched. It was sort of all over the place with no story. I guess it was OK. The only other thing I can say about Gamer is the Blu-ray will be a lot of fun.

I really disliked it. It was really weird and didn't flow well.

I thought Mike Hall was pretty good but the last 20 minutes really weren't done well.

Meh... I'd say rental at best...

Best thing about it was the trailer for Legion.

Saw it and liked it. Gamer was well worth my $5.50 (though not the $9.25 I spent on food ). I will be fine never seeing this movie again but it was enjoyable.

The ending you are talking about; is it
[Show spoiler]when he is driving his family and it looks like the flash backs he had?
The rest made sense to me; then again, I turned my brain off to enjoy the big splosions

Awfull. It should be criminal to destroy a good sci fi base like that.
Only good parts were the idea behind the script, the first minute (thanks to aerial city view + Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams -overused though-)... and ... well ... Buttler I guess?
Oh, the small idea behind the ending allowing
[Show spoiler]Kable to break the control and gutt Bill Gates .. err .. I mean Castle
.
Editing (on acid - Michael Bay is Ingmar Bergman compared to that), Music, Acting (wtf happened to Kyra Sedgwick?), script ... everything was retarded.

Had so many hopes for a story with such good potential... Could have been the 21st century Running Man. Not even close (to me at least)

Just got back.

Liked it, but like Vegeta, I'll be perfectly content if I never see the movie again. It was definitely a one time viewer for me.

Butler did good, Michael C. Hall was ok imo.

Everyone else was definitely forgettable.

The editing during the "game" was atrocious, several times I had to go "what the heck just happened?!" to a friend of mine. Very difficult to follow.

Though I liked it, it could have been better.

2 out of 4 stars.

Damn, and I was hoping to see the Vin Diesel seal of approval again...
