These guys are all over ebay and amazon as well, but I've never had an issue with them and have purchased 10+ frames for my cheaper prints. Wouldn't put any legit screenprints in them, but for a simple digital print, they do the job. |

You should go to movieposter.com to check them out yourself if they have them in stock... give yourself an idea what to look for.

Thanks for your reply, that is where I am going but wanted to see what I should look out for to tell if it is an original or other things to note since I don't know much about posters. I would never buy anything without trying it out as you already know. I have already chosen what I want and made the call yesterday to them. It seems like a poster is a poster though and I will go and just see for myself.

I can tell you it may be worth dropping Kinsella a PM here and see if he has what you're looking for to at least get a price check to keep movieposter.com honest. It's his business and he ships well so you can be sure it will show up the same way it left his place. Things to look for in originals is paper stock, an original is usually printed on a better/heavier quality stock paper. Depending on the poster your looking for double sided is a step in the right direction to it being original though Kinsella does remind us often that there are double sided reproduction's out there. Poster size can be another tell, with people passing off 24x36 posters as 'Theatrical originals', a 24x36 poster is often always a sign of a reproduction... though a poster being 27x40 doesn't grantee an original either. I'd say the best judge is your eyes... print quality says a lot. As an example, my dad and I were at movieposter.com picking out a Bull Durham poster for him and they have a 26.5x38.5 reprint and a 27x40 original... they took them both out for us and it was pretty clear which one was the reprint. The original was just that much sharper... and for that sharpness you get to pay $315 versus $16.80 for the reprint. My dad was bound and determined to plaque the darn thing so I refused to let him buy the original ![]() Last edited by roar; 05-15-2013 at 08:40 PM. |

This was the response I was looking for and now I am more equipped when I go in there. I am particular when it comes to pictures or posters and that is why I was asking questions. By chance, do you know what type of ink they use on the posters and what the estimated time that it lasts? |

Since this is a poster thread i thought i post this up.
RadiusTWC is giving away posters of Only God Forgives on their FB and Twitter you have to b one of the first five to answer their questions to win. They ask them at random times until the films premiere at Cannes. Just won one on the first question ![]() |

![]() I may very well take you up on your offer if I ever get around to completing my acoustical panel project I just can't seem to settle on. When that happens the pictures are coming out of theatre and I'm replacing them with panels. Whenever you're headed out this way drop me a line, always nice to 'talk shop' with someone ![]() Last edited by roar; 05-15-2013 at 11:39 PM. |

@Roar The reason why I asked what type of ink it is because when I take pics for some booking agents they get better quality ink with my prints. My printer uses pigment ink which fades less faster and has more durability. I sometimes do shoots out there in Burlington so no problem, I could drop by and we could grab a coffee. |

Skyfall, not sure which style you are looking to get, there is the final style which is very hard to find, but then there are also the various advance teasers, all of which have the SAME artwork of Bond walking towards you in the tunnel. The domestic advance just says November, the IMAX domestic says November in IMAX, the error version states December, and the International style says October since the film opened overseas before it opened in the U.S. All I have from your list at this time is Skyfall, but just have the domestic advance style. If you come up with other titles, feel free to send me a private message and I can check my inventory as I am still revamping it and finding things here and there. Also, whenever possible, go with originals, they are printed by studios and they are the way to go, reprints are generally lesser quality, can have fuzzy graphics, not as clear imagery, etc. |
