Well, in a perfect world, we would get an MGS1 remake with MGS4 graphics (as in the flashback), with the voicework from the original game. That would be epic.
Now that I think about it, the costs of a project like that would be a lot less than a typical new game production. You could use the engine, mo-cap, and character animations from MGS4, with only minor tweaks needed. Oh well, it'll never happen but one can dream I guess ![]() |

I'm joining you in that dream snake.
They were talking about doing that to Final Fantasy VII. I think it makes sense for videogame companies who have award winning ICON games to keep refreshing them. I thnk they could make a great deal of profit with a minmal investment. |

MGS3/Subsistence definitely had the best boss fights...maybe in any game.
MGS4 finally gets the control scheme right. My beef with both titles is the inventory management--that you actually had to assign certain items to placeholders in your quick menu. I don't like that. Particularly in MGS4 having SO many guns...it would be better if there were stacked quick menus (a la MGS2) with everything available to choose from. If nothing else, I think it would encourage the player to experiment more with different weapons more often...rather than having to commit to the same 5 or 6 all the time. |

Interesting article regarding Konami's Q3 profit results and the influence of Snake (or lack thereof). Which of course begs the question that has been asked a million times lmao

According to Konami latest financial report, Metal Gear Solid has sold an additional 650,000 copies this fiscal year (April - Dec 09). This most likely tips MGS4 over 5M copies sold worldwide. Making it the highest selling PS3 exclusive and officially putting it above MGS3 (excluding re-release) in terms of copies sold.
Congratulations Kojima Productions. Source PS: For those interested, GT5: Prologue is the 2nd highest selling PS3 exclusive with 4.65M copies sold worldwide. |

Obviously I have a PS3, and I really dislike the "grouping" that came out of the different platforms. I couldn't give a rats azz about the Xbox honestly though, it's a PC in a more sellable console-form. But still, I basically don't like all the arguing and stuff that came from it, cause we're talking about GAMES here. lol But yes, ever since the mid-90s or so I have been using the PC as my main platform for games. Then eventually I also got a PS2 for the heck of it and of course now a PS3. Before that I had a "NES" and a "Genesis", but that was a whole different type of "gaming". The thing is... some types of games just fit better on a console, or make that a platform with a gamepad-controller. And other games just fit better on a PC, obviously the platform with a mouse. Also, I intentionally do not mention the keyboard, because I am NOT a fan of the keyboard. And I believe there will also be some alternative for the mouse at some point cause it's not flawless either. However, it does beat the heck out of the (right) analog stick if you know what I mean. I think that 3rd-person-games are nice for consoles though, better than the 1st-person shooters and all. But they're not... issue-less either, I've even seen complaints about 'Uncharted 2'. Being that the controls are awkward in smaller spaces in the environment. And I definitely noticed it in the Demo feeling like a barrier in the controls over the game. Also, what I meant for "MGS4" specifically is, the game itself just doesn't have a good feel. The first 3rd-person-game I did get a good feel for with the gamepad is 'Uncharted'. The first 1st-person-game I got a good feel for with the gamepad is 'Mirror's Edge'. I guess that's mainly because it doesn't require aiming a gun or that much combat. But still, it works well and I really believe it's because of the way they program it. Funny though, that DICE's "Bad Company" doesn't feel as good, but yeah... Maybe different creators of the company?... Last edited by Damage Inc.; 02-11-2010 at 06:48 AM. |

I played this game on Hard and got to the end with over $100k and the feeling that "Hard" was God of War's "Normal".
Now I have to fight Liquid 3 f'ing times?? Give me a f'ng break with this game. I'm done. I don't care if I finish it, it's going up on ebay. I don't have a problem with games that are challenging. I play God of War II on Hard and enjoy figuring out how to defeat the bosses after dying 20 times first. But this is just pure stupidity. I don't have time to try and reserve all of my health for 3 matches with Liquid. "Raaaahhh!" Now i'm Luquid Ocelot. "Raaahhhh!!"" Now I'm Liquid the 3rd. "Raaahhhhh!!" now my controller is embedded in my 46" LCD TV where liquid's face once was. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
