It's odd how their tone is almost hostile towards even the thought of including trophies. Another odd note, is that rather than saying, "Oh wow, the internet was set ablaze with this error, maybe if we patched the game it would light a fire under the game for this holiday season." Rather we get, "we're working hard with Sony to correct the printing error, and have no trophy plans"

It would probably take two coding geeks way less time to write the trophy patch than it would take kojima to deal with the printing agencies to get the printing error fixed.

This. I highly doubt it takes that much effort to add trophies to a game but whatever, if Konami wants to be dumb then there's nothing we can do.

When JStevenson was asked why Resistance and Ratchet FTOD were not gonna get trophy support, he gave an elaborate answer as to why it was not that simple and why it takes a lot of time and effort.

I think trophies add replat value to games.. But i agree there not everything...But a company makes millions..and doesnt want to add trophies when alot of fans want that.....I think games like mgs4 and resistance should have a trophy patch..they can give excuses all day long...its just there lazy and wont get anything out of it...theyve already sucked everyone dry with the over 5 million sold lol

Their response wasn't even remotely hostile. It was a typical printing error apology letter.

I didn't mean hostile as in combative or anything. I meant it in a "blatant disregard and rejection of giving the fans that supported this game from day 1 their overwhelming support for trophy addition."

Besides that, like really, what does Konami/Kojima Productions have in the pipeline that they are so backlogged on? Rising is in it's final stretch, maybe Dance Dance Revolution

I'm not sure about Konami but I'm pretty sure Kojima is busy and probaly doesn't care too much about trophies.

I can't believe people are still moaning about the lack of trophies for this game! There never will be any, so get over it and just enjoy the game!

I'm surprised there was never (has been yet to be) a second release of this game when like every other MGS titles has had an updated version.

Make it so you don't have to install every act, add like 10,20 new octocams (Liquid...why didn't Snake/Otacon think of that!? Could have just strolled through) and trophies. Maybe a few other things. I'd buy it at a discounted price.

Part of the issue is that this game came out after trophy support for the PS3 was implemented and this game was hyped up as being great because it was on the PS3 versus the X360 (and would require several discs on that platform).

It didn't help that there were various sources indicating trophy support was being considered for this game. If the developers came out and said it definitely would not come that would be one thing. But I personally held off on playing this game again based on the anticipation that trophies would be coming. In between that time I lost interest, gave up and just sold the game. This ultimately just left me with a feeling of malcontent and resentment towards this game.

That's a shame man. It is an awesome time.

I would recommend giving it another go.
