Hey CdnBlue

How does that Horkey look in person? I imagine the leaves pop and eye sparkles. Can't wait to see the framing. I think I'll narrow my GoT wall to the North of the Wall, Canis Dirus, and the Taylor Harbinger variant.

Did you frame it yourself, or have it professionally framed? Posters, particularly theatrical 27x40 ones are pretty tough to frame, particularly if you include matting as it is challenging for a framer to get pressure against the entire poster to keep the poster tight against the matte. If the poster is right up against the glass it should be a little easier and just require some more or a thicker foam core... I think we may need to know some more about the frame first.

I don't know about professionally framed because I don't know much about posters. The people over at movie posters.com framed it for me and it looked like they knew what they were doing. The frame is a black steel frame and it looks like there is lots of room for foam core but right now its got a cardboard backing it up.

Thanks again Roar.

I can't vouch for any of this... just what a quick search turned up.
It all comes down if you want authentic British Quads or reprints...the site above looks like they specialize in reprints, and if that is ok with you, then it may be a way to go. Best way to get an original is to find out if you have friends or family in the UK and see if they can get them from their local cinemas. There was a dealer in Boston back in the 90's who would get a lot of quads and other foreign posters in from their overseas contacts but they aren't in business anymore. I have an original quad for The Crow, which featured artwork not found on the domestic posters, it was incredibly hard to get but saved one for myself. There were a ton of reprints that soon appeared but were easy to spot with the fuzzy credits. Crow fans would really like it, they had some great posters for that film, the Italian folded one was really quite nice too.

Thanks again Roar.
They framed it at movieposter.com and it has waves in it? That's a bit disappointing. Like I said though, framing these posters can be a bit tricky I've been told by framers because you need to get pressure against the back of the poster and that is such a large area it can be challenging. Depending on what is holding the backing in you may be able to a thicker/firmer foam core in there and that might get things a little tighter.

The one I bought from ebay felt original to me... double sides, nice thick stock, it was a great poster... naturally my dad turned around and plaqued it... but what can you do

Received my Gutted Variant today. 3/75. Second lowest number in my FF which is kinda cool!

Bottleneck tossed in one of those Ironman 3 IMAX 12:01 posters as well. Super nice of them to do that! Photos will be up tonight.

It's an alright print. Black is metallic which doesn't really shine that well. 11-colors which is cool though, lots of detail and different colors in this print.

Still unsure what I'm gonna do with it. It was cheap so chances are it'll sit in the FF for a while until I figure out what I want to do. Only things I've decided to sell for sure so far are my Transformers Whalen prints and my Looney Tunes collection.

Awesome number. I got 22.

Oh man the metallic is the lake?? Dang thought it would be certain blues or in the fur. I'm going to second guess having that print on my GoT wall then. The size is ideal because I'd have that Harbinger print at an angle from Canus Dirus. Then I'd have the Blackwater and North of the Wall print at the opposite ends.

CANUS DIRUS:
The metallic is the grey fur/eye and the water (black) and the black parts of the dire wolf. Pretty much the entire dire wolf is metallic.
I wish he had also used a red metallic on the leaves and comet, but that's the past.

Thanks! Now still slightly interested in it. I'm searching in EB for sine home pics of it not so much luck. Will see what CdnaBlu comes up with.

Yeah thanks, I will go back there to see what they can do. I spent quite a bit of money on them and I watched them frame it myself. Where did you get the portfolio for your posters?

I bought the portfolio used from a guy out in Brantford. I'm pretty sure it's this exact one: http://www.jerrysartarama.com/discou...tion-Cases.htm

I wonder if a place like Deserres might sell them locally? They pop-up on expressobeans.com from time to time used.

The one I bought holds 24x36 posters so it isn't any good for theatrical movie posters I'm afraid... it's only good for the art prints I collect.

Thanks no rush tho. I got all the time in the world. I was just thinking the metallics would be in the leaves or the comet. Got Summers fur right, just didn't think it would be in the lake. 11 colors on screen print is still amazing.

CANUS DIRUS:

PICS
[Show spoiler]

PREVIEW

These are all close ups- to show where the metallic inks are. They are kinda subtle compared to other metallic prints, yet the whole image fits together perfectly.

Looks pretty good. I haven't dabbled into the metal ink yet. Looks pretty decent tho through the pics. I like the size of it because it fits in the way I want to set up my GoT wall. Four fit perfectly. Would be the first Horkey I own too.
