Also, my hope is that they keep the cast small and focused. Scream 3 and 4 are jam-packed with extraneous characters and and they all suffered with minimal screen time as a result. Also, I would prefer they stay away from casting too many well-knowns. It’s honestly distracting to me when you have actors like Adam Brody and Anthony Anderson in bit roles as cops.

As for Sid, well, who knows how extensive her involvement will be with this one but if I had my way, she would be front and center again as many of you may not want that. But I want the Sidney of Scream and Scream 2 - in my opinion the first two movies did the best job of truly selling her as the heart of story. My wish is that we get that again. The fact that the filmmakers seem to be such big fans and have such a great appreciation for the series makes me hopeful that we can really get back to the what made this series so great and keep that focus.

Sid is the killer.

Gale and Dewey get divorced. Judy Hicks makes a move on Dewey, but he's still not interested. She's heartbroken and angry. She gets her teenage brother and his friend to go on a killing spree to teach Dewey a lesson.

Gale and Dewey have to be divorced at this point? I mean Cox and Arquette suffered through 4 even after they were broken up, can't see them eager to do it again.

Plus if Courtney doesn't come back saying they're divorced and she moved away is an easy out.

Dewey is unfortunately my least favorite of the trio. I hope this means Courtney cox is coming back again now too.

And Fingers crossed for Hayden/ Kirby's return if its still following the same continuity which I REALLY hope it is.

Kevin's original Scream 4 opening scene just had Marnie/Jenny watching the movie, Marnie pranking Jenny, then going back to the movie.. and Ghostface appears and stabs Jenny and that's it. So unsatisfying.

Probably depends if Hayden's shift manager at Starbucks will let her have the time off.

Just curious, do we suspect, or better yet, know which studio would probably distribute this since the acquisition of the Weinstein Company library by Lantern Entertainment? I see they are a majority stake holder in Spyglass Media Group but who releases their films?

Probably Universal. They're doing distribution for the new Halloween films.

Glad this isn't a remake but more of a sequel/reboot like the new Jurassic Park & Star Wars movies.

As far as the storyline line I think clearly Gale or Dewey has to be the one to die in the beginning of the film as the way to bring back Sid to town and for the jumpstart of the new cast.

Ideally for me Gale would die in the 1st 15 minutes or so to bring Dewey & Sid back.Both of them would then tie into the young cast and the big revel at the end would be that Dewey is the killer and has been in all the other movies as well and has been playing everyone and was the true mastermind.Actually would make a lot of sense and would be and epic twist to the story that works better then Sid being the killer or going crazy.

Huh Dewey was scared shitless at the house party in part 1 when nobody else was around
Why would he volunteer to get stabbed in the back then be out for the duration of the final act in part 1 what would his motive be ,

Why didn’t roman tell Sidney in the final act in 3
Why Really tie Dewey to the chair if he’s part of the master plan

It’s a whole can of worms that gets way to messy and retroactively ruins the franchise

You can’t just cherry pick Dewey and say he’s the killer it makes sense just because it’s a huge out of left field twist


I’m 90% sure if the twist was sid turns crazy she would turn it down

And In today’s world they wouldn’t dare do it
The brave strong girl that’s been through hell snaps and kills everyone can already see the twitter pitchforks lol

People suggesting that Sid, Gale or Dewey be the killer is so tiresome at this point. And the funny thing is the people suggesting it think it’s such an amazing inspired idea. It reeks of desperate, lazy fanfic instead of a well thought out cinematic twist.

If the killer(s) in this movie ends up being any of the main three of Sid, Gale, or Dewey, then you will have completely lost my interest in this movie.

Yeah....I am a little confused by the statement as well. From what I recall all rthey did was introduce more backstory into Sydney's mother that created even more background into how and why Billy murdered her mother in the first place. That's not a retcon.

And no way they bring back this cast and reboot it. Sydney, Neve campbell, is still young enough to be believable as the hero and I would want nothing less.

And for all you people putting down, I say BLAH. Very likable and goofy character that gave the movie a few sweet moments that it didn't have otherwise. I think he's a very good character.

I kind of wish they did a Halloween 2018 type reset and just pretend Scream 3 and 4 never happened.
