As of now my main theater has Valerian in Auditorium 12 -_-. The big films get 1, or 2 as well as IMAX. I bet you girls trip is in Auditorium 1 with IMAX taking Dunkirk and probably Spiderman being swung into theater 3 since it's still making money or maybe the apes movie. I am going to check friday to see if I can find a premium experience. As of right now, an AMC has one but it's just because you can "dine-in" as well.

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I will still be seeing Dunkirk in IMAX but :/ I was really hoping for a chance to see Valerian as well. Considering this was the the biggest budget for a non hollywood film and hollywood is like nope.

Eh, I'd prefer a tighter, more compact auditorium.

IMAX shows non-IMAX trailers all the time, btw. Theater chains can stick trailers for anything in front of an IMAX movie.
My theater never shows non IMAX movies in the IMAX theater though

They show non-IMAX trailers, not movies. Meaning, trailers for movies that won't be showing in IMAX.

Correct, Valerian was never going to be shown in IMAX. They never promoted it in IMAX in the trailers nor did they ever promote it on any of it's posters.
You're absolutely right about Dunkirk, Nolan has been a major draw for IMAX and Dunkirk is filmed with IMAX cameras. They would Never not show it in IMAX theaters.

See my theater was promoting it for IMAX 3D and than pulled it.... so this is why it's rather upsetting.

The AMC Easton in Columbus, Ohio is showing Girl Trip in Dolby Atmos and not Valerian.

I got Valerian tickets for the Dolby Theater @ AMC Prime. Dunkirk is on the Imax. Planet of the Apes still has way more showings than anything else.

Same here. I've only found two convenient showtimes with one being a theater I swore not to go back to because they can't get their crap together in terms of presentation and the other is a theater I've never been to before.
The theater that I do want to visit has only two at 11am and 11pm.

I feel that I have to check this out this weekend because I have a feeling that this may be a one and done situation with this.
Thursday & Friday is booked for me with Dunkirk in IMAX and 70mm.

Predicting this movie will tank at the box office. Not a lot of star power and the previews have done a poor job of showing what it's about.
