Ok, I bought both trilogy steelbook sets from Gruv on the 10th of May. Total was charged to my account on the 12th. NOW I just got an email from Gruv saying my payment failed almost a month later. Like hell it did. I want my f***ing order! Anyone else have that happen?

My pre-order shows status of pre-order, but my card does have a pending charge. Was it paypal you used? I think everyone would agree that an actual charge to CC or Debit Card (not a pending that drops off) is very abnormal for Gruv and something that would require confirmation that they actually charged you and if so, reach out to Gruv directly about it.

It was a temporary hold, not a charge. The bank places an authorization hold on the dollar amount to ensure there are enough funds to complete the purchase. Its shows as pending in your account, and then the bank removes the hold within a set amount of time based on their policies (i.e. after 10 days is the most common). Final value is charged at the time the item ships. If you didn't have enough money in your account when it came time to ship, they cancelled it.

I asked Ralph over at AVS forum if he would be reviewing the re-releases. He said unfortunately, Universal isn't great about sending out review copies...so no plans for a review at AVS.

I was hoping Ralph had got a copy and could give us some initial thoughts prior to the shipping from Gruv and others.

You guys aren't understanding. I pre-ordered the sets on May 10th. On May 12th money was taken out of my account by GRUV in the amount of the order. The info says "withdraw", my balance decreased. That was the end of it, until today on June 9th when I got an email saying payment failed. It wasn't a hold if it's for a whole dang month almost, and certainly not if I'm still to this day $127.48 shy on my account since the 12th of May when GRUV charged me.

I'd guess you're mistaken somehow but if that's correct you should email them and I'm sure they'll fix the issue.

Wasn't going to bother with this or The Jurassic World Steelbook set yet but Target is currently having a Buy one get one 50% Off deal which made the 2 of them a little more reasonable so I bit. I figure this is the best these films are going to look for a very long time. I am certain I will be disappointed but f nothing better s coming down the pipeline forever then that is that.

I'm not getting the second set. I hated the fifth and sixth movies, and Jurassic World already looks amazing on 4k. Dolby Vision alone would be an insanely small upgrade on my set.

Did you pay via PayPal? If so, you would’ve been charged in full at the time of purchase, pre-order or not. I just placed an order a couple of weeks ago for three pre-orders with three different ship dates and was charged at the time of checkout.

You need to reach out to their Customer Service and have them look into this.

I didn't go thru PayPal. I just logged in, ordered both sets, paid with debit and that's it.

Edit: I just now got a response from Gruv. They're looking into it. I was indeed charged though.
