I just sold prettycmuch all of my cds at a garage sale last year. Only kept a handful that I had signed by the artist. It's odd that I love physical media for film/TV but when it comes to music I'm fine with just listening to things on my phone/radio.

Not knocking anyone that has record or cd collections. If I had the space and money I'd probably be more inclined to have a collection myself. Bad enough with how many movies I own.

I still love watching a concert on disc - wish a lot more were being released - but aside from road trips, I rarely listen to any of our CDs anymore and haven't bought a new one in over 20 years, since DVD started getting all my spare cash and then some, unless you count having transferred them all to a tablet, which I hook up to a large blue tooth speaker at the shop or where-ever I'm working, when I'm doing something in one place that doesn't warrant hearing protection. My ears aren't nearly good enough anymore to listen through the speakers in a phone though. And, I don't have patience for FM advertising anymore, which they seem to all time their ads to play at the same time, as if to deter people from switching stations. And the morning talk shows aren't as good as they used to be either.

I still have about a hundred cassettes too, which my 2003 truck is the only place I have left to play them, the ones that aren't corrupted anyway. We've got a couple dozen very old LPs, but lightning fried our turntable along with about every other piece of electronics in the house about 30 years ago, and we never replaced it.

Totally agree! We have 2 cars, both RAV4's. The 2016 has a CD player. The 2021, which is totally souped up in almost every way, does not. So I prefer driving the 2016!

Is anyone else having issues with orders getting stuck in preparing to ship? 2 different orders from b2g1 sale currently have this problem for me, been stuck on preparing for over a week and the delivery date rolls back a day every night it does not ship.

I've had it going on with High Noon 4K.

It's because the original release date was 4/16 (which Target still shows as the release date) but it was delayed until 5/7 (e.g. see Amazon's listing). Target does not seem to have gotten that memo so they just keep changing the shipping/delivery dates because they probably haven't gotten stock yet.

I don't know if that's what's going on with your orders, but maybe that's it.

One is High Noon, the other is the 2 Fletch movies. Looks like they were also delayed so you are probably correct. I did not think to look at date changes!

This one was different, because it's actually preparing to ship. It's basically beyond the stage where they would need a delay approval.

I'm still waiting on The Faculty 4K to ship, lol.

The Departed and Steel Magnolias 4Ks shipped out just fine this week.

Even though I bought my Ocean's trilogy 4K steelbooks together and they have the same release date, Gruv sent them separately in their own package.

And now Target is doing the same with my Disney+ 4K steelbooks.

I still buy CDs. I wanted to make an order of the new Pearl Jam, The Black Keys and Vampire Weekend albums from Target. Of these 3, The Black Keys was online only. This is surprising to me since I would think TBK would be available in store before Vampire Weekend. I remember buying TBK album Turn Blue at Walmart when it came out.

This week I wanted to buy the new Iron & Wine and St Vincent albums. Iron & Wine is online, but St Vincent is not. St Vincent had a Target exclusive a few albums ago. I guess it has to do with what label they're on and just less and less albums being sold by physical stores (and their websites).

During Best Buy's CD heydays, they would have carried all 5 of these and did carry some of their previous albums.

Speaking of CD players in cars - can you get a factory installed CD player on any vehicles anymore? I also hate LED headlights, so I have wondered if you can get those changed in factory. I hate those pointed at my eyeballs, so I don't want to be someone who is pointing those at other people. Things I will have to think about if I need a new car.

It hasn't been announced yet. There is no current release date for it.

I know, but Target had it up for pre-order anyway, so I've still got a pending order for it.

I'm hoping it's a situation like The Ring where Rodriguez caught wind and decided to get involved.

I archived all my CDs and ripped then to uncompressed WAV and put all of them on a USB drive and use that in the car. Audio quality is no less than a CD player but now I have hundreds of albums on hand all the time. Plus you can browse through the drive using artist, genre, folders however you want. I can never go back to physical media for music. Ever. My entire house is setup with Bluesound audio. Every room has it. Streaming audio sounds fantastic especially the HiRes tiers for Tidal and Amazon.

CD players really are unnecessary because converting a CD to digital is so easy and free to do.

Okay, just making sure people are aware, and not expecting it to ship anytime soon . As long as SF plans to release it eventually, I can be patient for it lol
