I don't think so. Go to the IMAX site. Valerian isn't on it. The current and upcoming releases are:
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Dunkirk
Marvel's Inhumans (although it's a TV show, but apparently it's also going to be in theaters on 9/1/17)
Kingsman: The Golden Circle
Geostorm
Thor: Ragnarok
Justice League
Black Panther
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Blade Runner 2049

Thanks, I like to also come into threads of movies I have no interest in just so I can make my thread crapping comment. Keep up the good work.

Saw this tonight, I really enjoyed it. I can't imagine a fan of sci-fi films not at least liking it.

The screening I saw was in 2D, think I'll check it out in 3D sometime next week.

To my recollection, Fifth Element was also a flop when it opened (at least domestically). According to Box Office Mojo it didn't come close to surpassing its budget and only opened with $17 million (and that movie had Bruce Willis star power backing it). Of course it's had a strong fan base and cult following over the years but it definitely was a flop upon release.

Pacific Rim made about 75% of its take outside the US, we will probably see this happen with Valerian.

I was checking theater times, now that almost all times are up there's barely any 3D times and almost none of them at 7, only at 12 or 10 PM. Also playing in a lot of smaller auditoriums, a theater near me is playing Dunkirk in BOTH IMAX and Dolby Cinema while Valerian is being shown in one of the smaller auditoriums with less room from a scope screen. The other big auditoriums are being booked for (standard) Dunkirk, Girls Trip, Apes, Spider-Man, even Despicable Me and none of them are being shown in 3D.

If I have to, I'll just see it in 2D. Maybe if I like it enough I'll buy it in 3D on blu-ray (if it even gets a blu-ray 3D release).

Valerian's overseas % will likely be much higher than that, even.

The AMC in my area has Dunkirk on all of the Imax screens, but Valerian is the only thing playing on the Dolby screen, and that is what I wanted. The RealD 3D screens are split between Valerian, Spiderman, and Planet of the Apes.

I was hoping to go across later to the Regal and catch this in 3D on RPX, but all of the RPX screens are for Dunkirk and only RealD for Valerian.

I hope Valerian gets on one of the bigger screens in 3D next week.

I had a screening today with reserved seats but then after reading your comment I contacted the agency that's screening this and was informed that its not in 3D, major pass for me. Pretty lame considering its meant to be experienced in 3D.

I had hoped to catch this and Dunkirk in a double feature next week but so far all the theater times for Valerian won't make it easy. Only three, 3D showings in the day and 4, 2D showing listed so far at my local theater.

The good news is that already this has better reviews than Lucy.

I can't believe a movie of this scale isn't going to be shown on any premium formats.

Really not sure how to feel about this film. I'd like to support original sci-fi, but I really don't like Cara Delevigne (and I despise Rihanna). I'll have to see what reviews are like, then decide; at least it'll be free if I use my Unlimited card.

Don't worry about Rihanna, she isn't in it that much. Other than Suicide Squad (which I didn't care for that much) I had never seen a movie with Cara Delevigne in it. She was fine in this and both Dane and she had good chemistry I thought.

I didn't think the trailer looked that good. The CGI looked almost cartoon-ish. And the story line appeared trite.
