One early on rumor was that the final season would be 2 hr feature like episodes but I would agree with your assessment in the airings of the final six parts. If only because HBO will milk it for as long as they can.....

Well, remember, its not ALL HBO, I mean the series is shot and produced over seas. And while it airs on HBO in America, it airs on Prime, Showcase and Sky Atlantic in other countries. What I'm getting at is it really is up to the producers what the length of each episode will be. But I would expect that each episode is going to have some sort of "blockbuster ending" simply because there are still a lot of remaining loose ends and only 6 shows to tie them all together.

The last season was hurt due to overseas production taxes climbing off the charts due to Brexit and new tariff wars and that sort of thing. It basically pulled the plug on a really ambitious ending and made them rush it. |

That’s not true. They spent months on one battle sequence alone. Each episode this season costs more than the most expensive episodes in the series including Battle of the Bastards. There’s actually no word on the show even being substantially affected by taxes. You need to back comments like this up with sources.

Like last year Warner Bros Poland/Galapagos held an event and revealed the 4K future plans. More seasons of Game of Thrones are confirmed. We could see more by the end of 2018.

The battle scene in episode 4 of season 7 should look spectacular on this format. |

I want to get these, but I would have to think there is going to be some kind of epic box set released after the show ends. Holidays next year perhaps?

Yeah maybe not that soon but I have to figure a 4k set will come eventually, which seems like a better time to replace all the BD sets I own. Doing it individually seems a bit much.

I got these over a month ago and even knowing season 1 was shot at 4:4:4 10 bit 1080p HDCam I still love how it looks. Color is better, dark scenes are better resolved and there's a sense that the picture has more depth, more place to "breath" than the plain BD's that at least for season 1 looks flat in comparison.

So what if you "know" what it was captured at? We've been looking at upscales for years already (and 1080p is literally just a few pixels away from 2K) so I don't get why this situation is so different, nor why so many people doubted that GoT could look any better. HDCam and its 440 Mb/s bitrate will still kill anything that 8-bit 4:2:0 48 Mb/s Blu-ray could ever manage, not to mention the quality of the actual camera doing the capturing. The Alexa isn't a goddamned camcorder.

Honestly the biggest leap by far from UHD for me is the extra depth and texture added by subtle HDR, ignoring the "pop" and effects stuff. That added depth and texture can be there for pretty much any source content.

We all know GoT season 1 is not 4Knative but there was still a lot of potential that got out of those 10 bit 4:4:4 HDcam masters and the result is beautiful picture which suits this kind of show extremely well. |

Thank you. My English used to be better, it's a bit rusty now. In addition to that, I had an accident over 6 years ago, I fainted, or so they said as I don't remember anything,my body was fully rigid and I fell on my two shoulders that broke downlike a cheap China jar that you drop to the floor. They then discovered it was epilepsy, between the medication to avoid convusions and the pain killers I have to take it's hard sometimes to choose the right words or spell them well. And the doctors keep on saying that my medication has "no side effects at all", that me and my mind are making the side effects up. Bullshit!
