Is that Tron poster about 11x17 inches in size? I heard they gave those out at the screening of 20 minutes of footage a month or so ago. They released tickets for free online, I was going to go but I ended up not being in town.

nope its the full 27X40. Its was kept in back in the managers office with a bunch of other promo posters

I wonder if they made that poster for the theaters that were participating in the 20-minute preview, but handed out 11x17 versions to patrons as I was told by a few people they got an 11x17 version but nothing else. Nice poster though, those would be quite rare indeed.

no no no... its not something they handed out to everyone. My friend is friends with the manager of the theater. We received an invite to watch True Grit after hrs the night before it came out to the public. The theater needs to pre screen the movies to ensure there isn't any damage to the film. Only the manager, my friends and I were in the theater while the movie played. After the showing we asked if they had any extra TRON posters.
But its DS and in a 27X40 frame now. Its one of their promotional ones that go inside the large displays. I'm assuming they were sent too many or had to take a few down for new movies or something. IDK I didn't ask how he got an extra lol.

No what I meant was if you look at the bottom of the poster it talks about the special 20-minute preview called Tron Night, and it was made for the theaters who featured that preview. It wasn't handed out, but was sent to the theaters to display the days before the event and the night of the event. They must have sent the theaters a small handful for theaters, it isn't the advance, and it isn't the final style. The final had all the credits on it, but the same imagery. They handed out 11x17 versions to people who showed up, but not everyone got one. Yours though is quite rare, because it is a poster just for that one night preview event so take good care of it.

I'm going a different direction with the HT, but wanted to thank everyone here for the links/info anyways.

I got some art prints from my Parents for Christmas (first Christmas present I've received in a couple of years, minus the ones I get myself ) and I think we're going to incorporate them into the new HT.

i got a set of regulars hsd to sit at computar refreshing but it was worth it

No way! Congrats man! You scored big time. I sat in front of my computer refreshing since 9am. Had them in my cart instantly and got hung up in checkout.

I need to read my email more closely, I was going through my junk mail the other day and just ignored the email with the subject 'nerf herding', when I read your post I went back through my junk and took anoter look... what a disappointment!!! My wife totally would have killed me if I dropped $300 on posters, but I still would have, those are some pretty great looking prints! Hope to get in on the next one.

The Star Wars series is over with, today (December 31st) was the last day of the Mondo license so they had to get the series concluded today. I will have the standard and variant sets myself in a few weeks. I must say, these are beautiful prints, the variant set with the metallic inks will really stand out.

Mine would be the Iron Man 2 Metal Variant edition of which only 65 were produced, and the only way to get it was pick-up in Texas since they won't ship the metal posters anymore. Of course the Star Wars sets now too. But my must-have is The Thing that he did.
