The second and third movie always felt to me as if they were missing something without the core cast together (particuarly Neill, Goldblum, and Dern). The first movie had a good script too that the sequels just lacked. I still watch them once in a great while, but they are so far behind the first movie for me. I have no interest in the last three movies.

NONE of them come close to the original, let's be real. But...
JPIII > JW: Fallen Kingdom, JW: Dominion Any day of the week and twice on Sundays. (I actually quite liked Jurassic World, but it didn't need 2 more sequels.) |

All 5 sequels have had various problems and severe flaws. Lost World has by far the best scares, music, and cinematography but the story is a disjointed mess and the movie always starts to run out of steam for me when I rewatch it.
III has grown on me, it’s such a small scale story with a slight running time which I used to hate but now I appreciate. It has the least egregious child actor of the series and I love the spinosaurus. Jurassic World was a blast to watch in theaters but is very stupid and shot like a car commercial. My favorite sequel is still I think Fallen Kingdom, which has by far the best opening sequence of the series and some beautiful and creepy shots involving lava in the first half and spooky mansions in the second half. And I found the Indoraptor to be pretty horrifying. Dominion is way too long and has basically zero tension or scares (Giganotosaurus was useless) but seeing a large scale globetrotting story was interesting and having the whole cast back again at last was fun. I enjoy them all to varying degrees. I think Rebirth has the potential to be the best sequel of them all if they’ve played their cards right. |

Lost World still has a lot of compelling stuff in it for me, and a great soundtrack. I can kind of ignore the bits I don't like.
World is a pretty dumb movie but I like the characters and the concept enough to enjoy it. The World sequels are awful. Especially Dominion, which as said before I think is one of the worst studio blockbusters of all time. Just embarrassingly bad. |

The Pterodactyl/Bird Cage scene in JP3 is one of my favorite scenes in the whole franchise. I liked Jurassic World quite a bit, but I don't think it comes close to JP3 for me, personally.
Dominion is on my list of some of the worst blockbusters I've seen in a long time. Just a laughably bad film. We don't talk about Fallen Kingdom. |

JP 1-3 have DV and Atmos added. JW 1 had DV and Atmos added. JW 2 & 3 already had DV, but were not given new Atmos tracks.

Not only that but it's gorgeous looking to-boot. Wonderfully put together and executed. Like sure, Spielberg shoos them off the island a lil to quick to get the T-Rex running wild on the mainland but even so...it's fantastic filmmaking.

As I said a while ago, it’s so nice to see some love for the second film, even if the sequels are still divisive on the whole. When the initial 4K set was announced, I was one of the only ones giving it any credit (I believe it was this thread, back in 2018… yowza).
Ooh, is it ranking time again? For me it goes: TLW:JP JP JW:FK JWD JW JPIII Dominion is a bad movie, but I enjoyed having the legacy characters back enough that it pushed it over the edge for me. JPIII really suffers for its complete lack of a script, but I do have some nostalgia for it. I also much prefer the grungier aesthetic of the Park sequels to the MCU-lite garishness of the World films overall, but JPIII is just nonsense. |

I actually really like the first Jurassic World. Maybe I'm giving Trevorrow and the writers too much credit, but the film felt like a satire of nostalgia-bait legacy sequels before they really took off. Funny it came out the same year as The Force Awakens.
Fallen Kingdom I enjoyed. The first half was whatever, but when it turns into a slasher film with the protagonists stalked through a mansion by a raptor, I was locked in. Dominion I don't really remember much of outside of the locusts (?). I didn't hate it but it's easily the least interesting film in the series. |

I'd probably rank them in release order, but I'd put JW just slightly above JP3.
Dominion is very easily the worst for me, I found the incorporation of the legacy characters weak, and Dodgson just felt off. The practical dinosaurs looked great but some scenes like [Show spoiler] fell flat - they just seemed too stiff and unnatural. The giganotosaurus looked great but did extremely little.

Jurassic Park and The Lost World are even better in book form. Some of the best stuff Crichton ever wrote.
But yeah, LW is a great JP movie. I love the darkness of it; Spielberg lost interest in the movie while making it, and I've always thought, that that's why it gets a little dark. Like, he just didn't care. I don't mind at all. |

For a movie the director didn't want to make based off a book the author didn't want to write, it's amazing it turned out as well as it did. |

I genuinely enjoy Fallen Kingdom but I can see why people dislike it. It's such a downer of a blockbuster. My 11 year old self would have been emotionally scarred watching it.
Dominion I strongly disliked. It's the only installment I find unwatchable. I really have no interest in revisiting it. |
