Target General Deals Thread

So I just got around to watching Aliens 4k (yeah, my backlog is very long), and it freezes and pixelates.

It was delivered in March. I assume Target won’t let me exchange it now.

Has anyone tried to exchange a disc months later?

It is possible to love books and movies. My collection is probably evenly split between books and Blu-rays/DVDs. And Target sell more types of books than just novels which is what they usually advertise and mostly stock in stores. I've bought graphic novels, manga, photography/art books and books about film. During this past sale I bought the Apollo Remastered book with over 400 full-page photographs taken during the Apollo missions. That thing is the definition of oversized and weighs a ton.

I would be curious how books are doing for them. I always stock up along with movies during their sales.

Cost Co recently announced they are getting rid of books by January, and just this month my local Sam's Club shrunk their book section. I usually get any mainstream new release hardcovers from Sam's because they are about $15 there, and they aren't carrying the new Riley Sager book (I bought his last three books from there). So they are limiting their selection as well.

You can try but probably won't unless the manager approves. I would contact the studio and see if they can send you a new disc. If neither will help just buy a new one and return the old one on it's receipt.

I am not surprised by Costco getting rid of books. It has been a constantly declining category for a long time.

Target keeps hitting me with the deals. Just got a $15 off when you spend $90 on one in-store or online purchase (expires Jul 6). Don't think I'm gonna make that one unless they throw a 4th of July movie sale.

Just had a 10% off deal which stacked with the 15% off entertainment offer they just had, and of course, the 5% off Red Card discount. On top of that I had $10 in bonus money that I got from completing a deal from the last BOGO. So a $29.99 movie I ordered ended up being around $12 and change before taxes. Also, getting free shipping on just one movie is a nice perk, too.

I had thought about saving the $10 bonus for a future sale but it was kind of nice not having to worry about trying to match two or three movies together with similar pricing.

Target gave me $5 of $30 food purchase. My last one was $5 of $30 beauty products. I didn’t have one for months before that. I’m not sure what I did to Target, but they seem to hate me.

I never take those Target "deals" into consideration because I'm convinced you can get food and other items used as deal offers for much less elsewhere (so if they have a $5 off $30 purchase, chances are you can save much more by shopping elsewhere without that false sense of accomplishment).

The only category I think this might actually be a deal for is for toys and games or maybe even movies and books.

One time I had to buy some skin products and they had an offer similar to this, and I was like wow I can get $5 back for shopping here instead. But then their products were like $3 more than other places, so in the end I saved like $10 than if I would have bought them at Target.

In fact, I don't buy food or personal care items that would fall under the beauty category at Target.
