The all-CGI small world stuff in this just looks amazing. I guess not having real elements to compare to makes it easier to buy it, but it just looks stunningly crisp and real. Movie holds up well on second-viewing too. My biggest issue with Marvel movies is most of them feeling the same other than Guardians, but this one has a different groove to it as well. Less Whedon/RDJ snark and more playful and full of heart.

Totally agree. ANT-MAN and DR. STRANGE are top-shelf, IMO.

I've never been a fan of Whedon, and now I'm straining my arm, patting myself on the back.

Still one of the best and most convincing CGI animations I have ever seen.
Much better than Clu (Tron: Legacy) or Tarkin (Rogue One).

You're not comparing like with like though. With Douglas they used the actual actors performance then de aged his face. With Clu and Tarkin they built a fully CG head from the ground up so it's different approaches.

It's not OOP, it's just that no one ever added the ASIN to the page. I fixed that.

...Unfortunately it's locked behind that stupid prime paywall, so you can't buy it unless you're a prime member. Try Best Buy instead, it's cheaper anyway.

As long as he doesn't need Spanish audio/subtitle options on the BD, I'd probably recommend to rafaelsalguero that he import it from Amazon UK, actually. Right now they're running a "2 for £15" sale on Marvel films, which comes out to $27.69 shipped (to the US at least).

Since they're all region-free, there's really no reason not to fill a couple holes for ~$14 apiece. He doesn't seem to have Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in his rather extensive collection either, so that and Ant-Man would make a good two-fer.

Some UK releases (Doctor Strange, Guardians Vol 2, etc) have DTS 5.1 Spanish tracks. It's worth looking, as the offer also includes Agent Carter, Agents of Shield and the like.

Not gonna lie, Black Panther may be a more socially important movie, but after seeing it twice, I have to say I enjoyed Ant-Man more.

As a matter fact, I liked Ant-Man more than Wonder Woman and Doctor Strange, too.

I'd put all four within about the same level (listed somewhere in the middle) as far as where I'd rank them compared to other superhero movies, but I would say that Ant-Man is the one I favor most among them.

I rewatched Ant-Man about a month back and am gonna have to agree with you. I saw it in theaters when it released and really wasn't impressed but that changed upon my second rewatch. I agree about it being better than WW/Strange/BP, too.

The humor was funnier this time around and I found myself enjoying the characters and story way more.

Really late to the party- just watched this tonight for the first time. Total awesomeness! Funny and just plain fun. Now I'll have to get around to watching Dr. Strange someday.

Question Ant-Man blu-ray region free

Really late to the party, but I have a question about the Ant-Man blu-rays? Does anyone know if this version of Ant-Man blu-ray comes with a slipcover? Is the slipcover OOP? Or is there not one at all?

That's an Australian release. The database entry here doesn't mention a slipcover.

If you mean the US release with that cover, no it never had a slipcover. Only the 3D did.

AUS releases are far less common to have a slipcover in general so it probably didn't

The 2015 US Ant-man with that similar cover didn't have a slipcover, but also didn't have a Digital.

The 2017 re-release with Digital and different cover art did have a Slipcover.

Watching the 4K Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos Disney+ stream right now. Think the 4K looks really good! Kinda surprised at the review of the 4K Blu-ray. How does it compare to the Disney+ stream?
