Wait - the non-Switch is $10 ... more.
This console generation is a big meh. And with the PS5 Pro, it seems pretty clear that manufacturers are no longer willing to subsidize the cost anymore, which makes sense given the industry issues (high dev costs, long dev cycles, shareholder greed, etc.), but still very much stinks.

Just watch Nintendo roll out a Switch 2 for $400+, which will barely be an improvement over Switch 1 ...

Not media related, but Pixel Watch 2 (Wifi Model) are marked clearance in store for 70% off, so 74.99.

I was surprised to see vinyl at Tractor Supply. It was Zach Bryan and Miranda Lambert. I think one was $39.99 and the other was $49.99.

As far as Target, I went last week and movies are just one side of a half aisle shelf. I read that the latest Green Day album was $7 at some stores, so I scanned one there and no price came up. Had to go to Women's clothing to find an employee - no one in Electronics for 30 minutes it seemed - and she took it. Maybe they put it back in Clearance later or sent it back.

Think of it this way:
  • You're going to have to buy 3 products to get the 1 for free, with the former.
  • Whereas the latter means you have to buy 4 items, in order to get the 100% off one of them.

It's 33% off versus 25% off.

It's Zelda bro.

and a clear money maker over time if you've been around for awhile. If you're going to buy a new console, then buy the limited edition one where you can make allll of your money back and then some, if you ever decide to sell it in the future.

It's a 100%+ fully returnable hardware investment. If you're looking at things the right way. People buy the wrong, plain consoles. If you just buy ones like this then you never lose. This $210 box will easily be worth $300+ in five years, and then you can trade it for another different new console.

I miss the days when people didn't buy this stuff thinking it'll be worth something later. It really is one of the big reasons (if not the reason) why these gaming companies no longer do price cuts and keep raising prices on games and nickel folks with microtransactions. It's of course why scalpers are now all over this industry and why publishers like Limited Run can keep getting away with overpriced junk labeled as "collector" editions.

The Switch is eight years old and it was outmoded tech when it launched. No thanks to this. As one who was an avid Nintendo gamer growing up, it's sad to see what's happened to the gaming industry now.

It's also sad to see so many of these things just scalped, folks buying from FOMO, and seeing loads of stuff being kept sealed by folks who think this junk is some sort of alternative asset.

Sounds like you're unable to understand other perspectives. That's more like a 'you' problem. Sorry you are unable to sell any old consoles to pay for a sleek new one.

No one was talking about scalping. You are obviously carrying a great deal of personal baggage into this.

"Oh lordy lordy the scalpers"....As the item has been entirely available at multiple retailers for many months. and still is.

Nah. It's just me rambling. Folks in the video game/creative industry tend to do that.

Got a spend $400 (not all at once) get $35. That's a pass.

I wonder if they keep track of customers who activate their bonus and don't get it, or customers who don't bother to activate it.

I have this weird fantasy that activating a bonus and then not fulfilling it sends some sort of noticeable message

My wife got a Spend $150 (multiple purchases) to get $15. We'll probably do that one. I got $15 off ONE $110 purchase. I know it's technically a better deal, but I think we're less likely to do it, especially since it expires in 5 days.

I immediately started getting worse offers once i started completing them successfully. Anecdotal but I'd imagine Target isn't in the business of giving money away so once you've spent a bunch they probably don't want to give you attainable ones anymore.

I haven't successfully completed an offer in over a year now due to just how much is needed to meet the goal. I off and on Activate them due to maybe being able to reach it. Right now it's $35 if I spend $370. It would need to be half that to even be attainable with my current spending habits at Target.

Another offer:

- Spend $270 for a $25 reward

I'm not even going to activate this bonus because it expires in 8 days. No way am I spending that much.

Same. I was getting like one a month- spend so much $x, and get $x back as Circle credit. Since the revamp earlier this year, I think I've only received one. And since then, my shopping at Target has pretty much dropped off to nothing.
