I would say, on balance, Jurassic Park is an upgrade, Lost World is a side-grade, and Jurassic Park III is a downgrade, if only because it’s essentially identical aside from the new marcroblocking issue.

If you want to pony up $60 just for a superior Jurassic Park 4K with a reduced pink push, have at it. Otherwise, meh, just stick with whatever previous releases you own. Of course, I say that, but lord knows there’s enough of us maniacs that have made more reckless double dips in the past, so it’s all a bit of a moot point.

Tried using BDinfo but all it does is like before, fire it up, choose disc then it stays on “please wait while we scan the disc…” forever.

Sorry I tried.

I’m still hoping we get a solo release of JP1 that’s under $40. But one thing to keep in mind, most digital versions have updated, so you can watch the new version through streaming at least if you own a previous set. MoviesAnywhere looks pretty good with Dolby Vision and the new grade. I’d still prefer to have the disk eventually.

This release is beginning to sound like a bit of a downgrade instead of an upgrade. Not even the original DTS found its way to the discs. The DTS on The Lost World in particular is fantastic. Such a great mix, and it sounds fantastic on the original UHD.

Can confirm I did not encounter this problem on my UB820 in Dolby Vision. Were you playing in Dolby Vision? It seems that various imperfections appear in these discs if not…

Also, what an underwhelming transfer. JP1 is an absolute wealth of rich detail and color, especially when compared to TLW. I realize a lot of the soft shots are baked in to the original cinematography, but man did it just feel like a slog getting through this one.

Same here. I checked TLW scream scene on the UB820 on HDR10 and DV HDR. No glitch. Maybe the disc has a finger mark or dust.

JP3 is not exactly the same especially not on DV.

Otherwise I'm impressed with the clarity of this remaster. The CGI is dated a.f. but the rest looks very nice.
Why would they have different MaxCLL/MaxFall values?

Watching the TLW now and I didn't notice any glitch on my copy with plain HDR10. So far so good.
Edit: Watched in full now and it looks pretty good overall. I think they overdid the green push a little but that was my only complaint.
