I also found the Stay Puft background placements to be far more noticeable in UHD. Like, you'd notice it even if you weren't really looking for it.

This movie is so, so good. I can't wait to show it to my 8 year-old nephew when he comes to visit in a few months.

Speaking of noticing things for the first time when watching as adult, this little doozy went right over my innocent head for a loooooong time:

Same here, and I've seen this movie hundreds of times on VHS back in the day. Are we sure Reitman didn't pull a Lucas here?

No, I finally started noticing the Stay Puft stuff on the Mi4K BD. It just took a proper master with the right format to make it more noticeable.

I was adding Ghostbusters 4K 1 and 2 to my price tracking, and figured I would check out the threads. Impressed this one is still going. All the grain haters moaning about these transfers makes me look forward to watching them.

If anyone's interested - zoom.co.uk are having a special sale today only. Ghostbusters I + II are both in the 'Buy 2 4K UHDs for £30' deal. £27 if you use the SIGNUP10 promo code.
Just hoovered them up along with a few other releases from ma' wish list (Star Trek Beyond, Serenity)

Yes indeed. Gone a little crazy lately so i've got a UHD backlog at the moment. Still have my Mummys and Blade Runner 2049 to watch. I may even order Salt & the first Star Trek before the day is over (don't care for ST: Into Darkness )

I recommend Star Trek, I just watched them. Nice upgrade. And the Mummy’s are excellent.

I fully endorse any frivolous spending on this hobby of ours. That rush we get from adding items to our cart of pure satisfaction.

I'll take a recommendation over a pro review these days. Also, nice set-up. I just had a browse through your photo gallery (which feels weirdly voyeuristic by the way, even though you uploaded the photos ). I should really add something to my account at some point. The posters alone gave me the nostalgia chills. Turns out the only thing cooler than a Lethal Weapon poster is a Lethal Weapon poster next to a Die Hard poster. I also spied Magnum PI DVDs on the lower shelves. Respect.

What about the greater rush from buying them in the store?

Ah thank you. I started collecting posters when I had my house built. I usually swap them out every season but I really like the ones I have up now. Magnum is one of my favourite shows. I’ve been eyeing the Uk set but $300 is too high. Hoping we see a set like Miami Vice in North America soon.

Unfortunately in my area selections aren’t great. Unless it’s a major new release. But yeah that rare occasion where I buy in store is nice.

I'm currently watching Ghostbusters 1 & 2 in 4K on Netflix and 2 was fine and looked great but 1 was pretty bad with constant flickering and artifacting. Is the 4K blu like this or is this Netflix stream just borked?

1 is great on disc. Lots of grain in some scenes. Not that it's a bad thing, mind you, but it it noticeable.

No flickering or artifacting I noticed. It's a great Sony transfer of the best movie from my favorite year in movies (1984).

Both UHDs of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II are fantastic. I saw Ghostbusters theatrically in 4K in 2014 for the 30th anniversary and the UHD is virtually identical to what I saw.

As said the UHD looks amazing. Netflix is probably using an old master, which will likely be a common difference between niche physical media and mainstream streaming as the years go by.
