I wonder what it would cost to commission him to do some private work and what sort of 'rights' to images you would need to obtain to get the work done.
Actually I felt his prices were more than fair, they are pretty much all gone now, so the secondary market is where collectors will need to find them, and since very few exist in the signed & numbered form, those will be highly sought after as opposed to just the numbered ones. Regarding the "rights" it would probably take a lot of work (and money) since the likeness of actors, and films, are owned by studios, etc and they generally would want a good size chunk of cash I would think.

I agree his prices were more than fair considering what the speculators are already trying to fetch on ebay, but even those fair prices were more than I was looking to spend on these titles. A greedy man still would have entered the lottery with no intentions of keeping the prints, but I'd rather leave my hat out of the ring altogether in hopes of someone who will keep them will be chosen.

As far as costs to pay the copyright holders, I don't think it can be too too much unless the Alamo or Mondo is taking a hit on these prints, as the run number versus the price they are charging would indicate to me that it is all being done for a reasonable price what I don't know is the breakdown of the costs, which is the part I'm curious about . I'd certainly give it a go to do it not-for-profit, as I'm guessing Mondo is probably running on pretty slim margins to offer the prints at such reasonable prices, obviously a whole lot of speculation on my behalf, but what else is the internet code for if not random speculation and assumptions!

Oh, btw, I pm'd you about the Suckerpunch advance.

You could keep it on the DL and get away with it.

You need is an artist to do the piece. They send you the art and then find a place to screen print it. If you wanted this on a T-shirt it could be done in a heartbeat lol. I don't have a paper connection but if you asked around I can't imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find.

I'd be surprised if creating the single piece of art is going to get anyone in trouble. What you do with it afterward is the concern.

You could call it:

"Artist's Interpretation of Johnny Depp in Various Outfits"

roar for the hell of it you should check out some artists and see what it would cost you to do a single piece. There's loads of great starving artists out there would love to do something like that. Take a look around Etsy for starters. You wouldn't have the "Stout" name on it but you could get a very nice piece of art that's one of a kind.

Wow. Thanks for those, they are pretty cool, i prefer the 2 black and whites, but I really like the style of stout, I wonder what he could come up with. I did some looking around on expessobeans and that lead me to gigposters I'll check etsy out too, I live close to a pretty good art college I could look around there too probably.

Was visiting a friend in London at the weekend and on my way from the tube stumbled across some impressive street art of the Tron Triptych:

Sorry the quality is not great - taken on my mobile phone

I took a night shot as well but it hasn't come out very well.

Hehe. Yea. Just got the Mad Max and Monster Squad in the mail this afternoon, dropping them off to my framing guy later. Got Olly Moss's Robocop framed with a nice off white matte border, looks absolutely stunning.

Had my Saputo's IM2 poster framed at another place and I'm not super happy with it (slight ripples), going to see if my regular guy can fix it up.

As soon as I get all my posters framed up I'll post some pictures, need to update my HT Gallery too.....

That's funny because I just ordered this today, it was out of stock last time I tried. I'm looking forward to getting it while I'm waiting, as are others I'm sure, for kinsella to get some more suckerpunch posters in, can't wait for that one too.

Question Question regarding poster and a fish tank light

I got mine today as well. It was ripped in the left hand corner in multiple areas. It also had finger indentations all over it. I called them and their sending me out another one.

I have a question. If I'm just using a normal poster frame with no UV protection, will the poster be hurt near a fish tank? I blocked out as much light as I could and I don't think the light is hitting it directly, I think it's more of a reflection. But I didn't know if that kind of light would do any damage to it.

DisneyMovieRewards is an awful site when it comes to expecting mint posters. They don't understand the collectibility of original movie posters so those they employ that package up posters simply toss them inside a tube with no protection and don't even bother to seal the end caps on. Remember these posters are packaged by people who think they are going to be tacked up on a kids wall, etc. Theaters too get their posters like this, sometimes a slightly better job, but not usually. I have spoken to several people about their orders, 9 out of 10 of them all had their posters damaged, and replacements damaged, some have had four to five posters repeatedly sent out and the packaging is always the same. I guess when the posters are free, you get what you pay for. I contacted them and explained to them the small hurdles they need to jump in order to get the posters to people without damage but it fell upon deaf ears. I am sure some people get a near-mint poster first time around, but the majority don't.

Can you take a clear photo of the bottom left side, is that some sort of logo Disney put on the posters they are offering for the DisneyRewards site? As if a specially made poster perhaps? I don't remember seeing that white blurb on the theatrical final style for Tron Legacy.
