Ah, I just checked and the same thing happened to me here! I had even cancelled my pre-orders elsewhere because of the lower price and was relying on Target. This is the first time I've pre-ordered from them in a while too.

What does this usually result in? Does this mean the order will be cancelled or do they usually deliver? And if there is a delay, any idea how long after release day they usually take?

My last movie that was backordered was Zodiac. Every week they will email you to approve the delay.

In the end, it finally shipped 3 weeks after release date.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth the $5-7 difference on some of these titles that get delayed ha.

I assume during this time you can cancel and they do not officially charge your card until the order ships in this case (other than the temporary hold)?

Probably right.

Right now as others have pointed out, some of them are in “preparing to ship” status. Can’t cancel when it gets to that point.

You should be able to cancel 'backordered' items. If your item isn't backordered yet then I wouldn't worry about canceling. You just might not get an item on release day. The savings are usually worth itm especially if it's like $10

I changed my mind about a movie is why I wanted to cancel it. It’s “preparing to ship” apparently though.

I’ll have to wait when it arrives and return to a store.

Just got shipping notices for Galaxy Quest 4K Steelbook (from the last B2G1 Free sale), Alien Romulus 4K Steelbook and Hawkeye S1 4K Steelbook

I picked up 2 Shout Factory titles. Krampus and Death Becomes Her. Is Target always slow to ship out Shout titles? I ordered 2 CDs in the same order, they were processed and shipped the same day, while both Shout titles says they will arrive in 2 weeks. I also tried other Shout titles, they all said arriving in 2 weeks??

I know target outsources movie orders now. If they still carry cds in store, like they do LPs, those might have shipped from a store, or at least from a different fulfillment center.

Someone on here posted that they bought Paradise, Heavenly Bodies and something else. I made Walking Dead Ones Who as my 3rd. On the 25th I ordered and they had it shipped in about 5 hours. Got it the 29th, but it would've been here a day early if not Thanksgiving.

I also got the $20 off $120 Circle bonus, so I used it on the upcoming Bewitched Complete Series BD set. I combined it with my last B2G1 order for three ~$17 titles, so the overall order was enough to cross the threshold. I know we're all still wondering what the quality of that set will be like, but I feel much better knowing I got $20 off the $98 pre-order price.

They still have CDs at out local store. Did they stop carrying all DVD/BRs?? I never noticed the last time I was there. Ours is over an hour away, so I normally only go when I have a doctor's appointment in the same town, which is every 6 months.

Actually they typically ship almost a week early, but then use a lethargic shipping service. I think all of this weeks releases were delayed due to the holiday. We received shipping notices for Alien, Galaxy Quest, the D+ seasons, and The Gift yesterday. I'm guessing you probably ordered later than we did. With their recent bogos, they likely sold quite a few. One plus with target outsourcing movie orders, is that the company handling fulfillment seems a little more likely to restock titles that sell out than target used to be. If that's all they do or if they handle distribution for other vendors too, even if target discontinues the item, existing orders should be satisfied with less chance of oversold titles getting cancelled, unless it's a limited production item.

The three steelbooks I pre-ordered have not moved one centimeter.

Another order I placed on the 30th instantly had a shipping label printed and was marked as "Shipped" and has not moved. At all.
