If anyone is a fan of Zeb Love's artwork, I'm releasing an 18x24" screenprinted poster for an upcoming fundraiser. The film itself is a surprise, but I can tell you it's a Bruce Willis film... PM me if you're interested!

Lion King - 2002 re-release:

Funny story on how I got my Lion King Imax poster. I was at a market sale and there was this big movie poster vendor (trust me I know my movie posters and fakes). So I took a look around and found he had two Lion King posters. One was slightly damaged, like I think it might have has a crease and maybe a small torn corner. I really wanted this poster. The other was in perfect condition but cost more. Like I think a good $10-$20 more I think.
So anyway, I go get the guy and tell him I wanted the damaged Lion King poster. He pulls the sleeve which has BOTH posters in it (that's how he packaged them). So he pulls it and gets the paper and tape to wrap it up. He makes a mistake and the tape falls right on the poster I was buying. He tries to pull the tape off and it just completely ruins the poster, rips off the picture and so on. He discards the damaged poster and sales me the perfect one for the price of the damaged one due to his mistake. To say the least I was thrilled!! I want to say damaged is was $15 and perfect was like $30.

Just picked up the Age of Ultron final on ebay. Got it for $20 plus shipping, but the seller says it's authentic. Worth a shot for $20. If it shows up and it's a fake, then I'll file a claim I guess. I've had pretty good luck in the past, seems that most sellers are movie theater employees.

Guardians only did the teaser style, not the final. Did Avengers have the final up for the first movie?

Its probably original but another example of someone on eBay who doesn't know anything about posters. Looking at his past auctions, he calls posters "prints" and the Cinderella listing he has at 24x36 inches. And then you have packaging to worry about, if the seller knows the proper way to ship. eBay is full of people who have zero idea what originals are, or how to package properly. Hopefully it is an original and it arrives in near-mint/mint condition.

I used to get all my posters from my friend who was a GM at a local cinema. My first Avengers poster is a little banged up, but it backlights just fine. As long as this shows up generally fine, I'll be happy for $20.

Yes only for a few hours and it was gone. I saw it posted here and by the time I checked DMR it was no longer up.

I can happily report back that I received my Age of Ultron poster today. I'd say it's in damn good condition other than a slight crease at one of the corners (probably due to the guy putting the cap on the end of the tube). It came nicely packaged in a tube INSIDE a UPS triangle tube. Not bad for $25 shipped! It's just as good as the ones I'd get from my local theater, so I'm thrilled.

For $20 I think you did quite well, the final style for Avengers 2 is extremely hard to find, and they are fetching $75+ on eBay. The harder the poster is to get, the more it's going to fetch on the secondary market.

If they are fairly cheap, get them, IF they are still factory-sealed and never displayed, but remember standees only cater to a small portion of collectors due to size and the fact that they take up room, whereas a poster can hang on a wall. Noah I would pass on if I were you. Avengers would be something you would want to flip now or in the next few months, but remember shipping costs can turn a person off, as can the imagery. Make sure its not simply the image from the advance poster which was a giant "A", a collector will more than likely want the cast imagery IF that was the standee artwork.

Avatar still has a following, but probably would get you the most closer to Avatar 2 when it's released.

Anyone know of a good place to sell/swap original movie posters besides Ebay? Any trading forums or facebook groups?

I only have one poster and it's BIG: 4-feet wide by 6-feet tall. It's supposed to be a "bus shelter poster" that I got on ebay a few months ago. The poster is in mint condition.

I couldn't find a frame for it so I will build my own out of plexiglass and moulding from Home Depot. If I could get a backlit frame for it that would be even better, but something like that would cost a fortune.
