It seems pretty crazy to me now that as recent as the early 2000s they were still distinguishing new tvs as "color tv"; that they were actually still making black and white crts.

The first TV I bought for myself (on clearance and with my Target Team Member discount ) was a 19" RCA just a couple years earlier. Might have been the same one also.

I grew up with a hand-me-down 13" Sears TV with a NES hooked up to it. But when I was in high school, I finally saved up money to pick up my first "real" TV from Target, it was a 32" Sony. My friend who had much more money liked my TV so much he went out to Radio Shack to buy the same TV for a couple hundred dollars more because more expensive meant better lol

$40 will probably be the taxes for a $400 purchase. Not worth it
