I wouldn't mess with that site for posters, my friend ordered one from there and it looked horrible. It was a Zodiac poster and the colors rubbed off when he touched it.

Are you sure you don't have MovieGoods.com confused with MoviePoster.com? MovieGoods is well known for printing up reproductions and selling them in all kinds of sizes, including 27x40 which throws off a number of collectors especially those new to the hobby who think that just because a poster is 27x40 it is an original. There was a time when that was enough to tell an original from a fake, but not any longer. I don't believe MoviePoster.com is being sued, but I know MovieGoods was sued last year I believe by 20th Century Fox, Disney, and a few others. MoviePoster.com is a legit dealer based in Canada, they do sell originals and reproductions but I have not heard any complaints from collectors about them. The only issue I have with them is the improper titles for some of their posters (i.e. domestic vs international, etc), but I think you are getting them confused with MovieGoods (who are also selling under the name MoviePosterShop.com) and several eBay user names too.

I think they are great, they have a B&M store front in Toronto that I have been to a number of times, I am not a big time collector, but of the 8-10 "original" posters I have not had any trouble with them as described by another poster above me.

What I mean is the proper titles for posters, they tend to not call a style what it should be called. Remember there are different types of domestic styles and different styles for International releases. Other than that, they do carry a wide range of originals but also do sell reproductions, but they do a good job informing the customer what is original and what is a reprint which is nice to see.

There was a time when MovieGoods was a good dealer but that was a long ago, now most of their titles are reproductions that are produced in-house of very poor quality. They have a tendency to do nothing more than take a high-resolution image found on the internet and use that to make copies. I know a guy who posted his poster collection online for people to view, which included several rare posters. He then saw MovieGoods offering a poster on their site. Because he has placed a small watermark on his images, he ordered one of the posters he saw they were selling that matched his, and low and behold HIS watermark was printed on the poster, so it explained where they got the image. It is really unfortunate the number of people who actually think they own originals they got from them (again some believing just because a poster is 27x40 it must mean it is an original which it doesn't) but in reality have a knock-off.

Got home from work today to find my posters had arrived from movieposter.com. As usual nice fast shipping at a reasonable rate and the posters arrived safe and sound.
I decided to take a couple of pictures of my DIY Backlit Movie Poster Box as well... not the prettiest on the inside, but I think it gets the job done and it is a snap to swap posters. |

It was a really straight forward project, not a lot of cuts or anything. I'd say I did it over the course of about 3 evenings, one night to build the framing and paint it, another to blow a hole in my wall, reframe it for the light fixture and do a little rewiring to put a light switch in-line, then another to tidy everything up, I'd probably put it at about 6 - 8 hour effort perhaps. Those evenings included a trip to Home Depot and a stop at a local glass place to find some white plexi to use as a diffuser one day before work.
