Default Top 5 Sequels that Were Better Than the Original?

List your top 5 sequels u felt were better than the original. I know a lot of people dont like sequels and for the most part feel sequels are never better than the OG. So lets see how many sequels are actually considered better than the original. If u dont think there are 5 that are better than list the ones u have. I have to think about this one for a minute. Should be interesting. Got Em!!

1. Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan
2: Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
3: Aliens (I prefer the action to the horror)

I can't even think of a 4 and 5.

lots of great sequels, but great sequels that were better than the original?

problem here is that most GREAT sequels also had great originals (terminator, alien, godfather, star wars, kill bill). i can't think of one great sequel that had a bad orignal.

Absolutely! Waaaaay better/more entertaining death scenes & the huge car wreck that opens the movie was amazing. Still haven't seen 3 or 4 though. How are those?

If the original is bad it probably wouldn't warrant a sequel.

I agree with your list. I liked Godfather I better though. I would slot Dark Knight in that spot instead or perhaps X-2.

I would have to say:

1. Friday the 13th Part 2
2. Return of the Living Dead
3. The Dark Knight
4. Superman II
5. Coming To America

Wonder if anyone can figure out why I put Coming To America #5? Got Em!!
