Oh YES! Nothing will beat IMAX 3d, but this is a must have for anyone with a brain. Pixar is the epitome of genius. What a great movie! Can't wait to put it on my shelf right next to WALL-E.

My only complaints about UP were the talking dogs.
[Show spoiler]While Dug was a great character, the whole high-pitched voice thing was a little much. The dogs piloting war planes was a little much as well.

Apart from that, UP was a beautiful film. The first act is probably one of the most gorgeous you'll ever see in an animated film, especially a Disney film. As for WALL-E, well, I absolutely adore WALL-E. Again, the first act of WALL-E is one of the most daring you'll ever see. And hey, it ended up working great.

Thanks for the kind words. Let's just hope they don't push the release date back before the official announcement, then I will look like I have egg on my face. But it kind of makes sense to release it on 11/10, they have other classic Disney offerings coming out that date as well and they will probably want to get it out before the Thanksgiving holiday.

I agree on the digital copy/DVD as one-disc format for Blu-ray purchasers, the digital copy disc is worthless after you use it, and in today's world of politically correct, that digital copy disc is basically extra waste so by not offering the DVD on the same disc, it would be going against the message in Wall-E, right?

I loved the trailers for Wall-E when they first came out, but the film just didn't do it for me. The animation was great, no complaints there, but I think it was the fact that Pixar films for me have always let me escape reality and just have fun watching them, but I felt Wall-E was trying to hard to send a message and be politically correct. And there were not any exciting secondary characters with the exception of EvE. The original movie posters did quite well, as all Pixar poster do well, and they looked great too. If anyone is into original movie posters and want to add Wall-E ones to their collection, let me know, as I have all four styles in stock (two U.S. versions and the two International versions).

I loved Wall-E, but I'm pretty sure it has 0 replay value.

You're right about the characters, too. It would have really helped to have had another character - or at least not have Wall-E separated from EVE for so long. That's where it dragged.

+1 to the dogs flying planes in UP!! That was like Mutt swinging on the vines like George of the Jungle in Indiana Jones! I actually gasped and sighed with dissapointment..

I can't replay Wall-E because I quickly sold my Blu-ray, I was that disappointed in it but they posters were great looking. I am looking forward to checking out Up when it is released. I have to admit I hope they don't start forcing 3D down our throats, as they appear to be doing so. I personally don't care for 3D, it bothers me, always has. And don't get me started on the last Indiana Jones film, good lord, talk about awful.

The 3D doesn't sacrifice the integrity of the standard version. I saw it twice and do not recall even minor 3D gags just for the sake of gags. It just added a bit of depth to the picture. Color wasn't effected very much at all, either.

Home 3D though... Ugh...

I think that it was just the way it was done. Maybe if there was a quick scene with the camera following the dogs as they run out of their little doggy beds and then, unexpectedly, jumping up into their airplanes - taking off to gun down a flying house containing a senior, a child, rare bird, and a talking dog.

That would have been a better introduction to an already stupid idea.

Did they miss the pun, or didnt they like it? That was a very fun and adventurous part of the movie.

Yeah - there weren't any gags. I did notice beautiful dimension! The depth was insane and added a lot to the movie. Coraline used 3D in the same way.

Dogs flying planes can't be done wrong.

EDIT: On depth in 3D movies: Ironically, I found the tunnel behind the door to be the best use of 3D, and it was going *away* from the camera.

EDIT 2: Forgot to specify, this scene was in Coraline.

I did, he bit me but then we got along just fine. I liked the dogfight scene, reminded me of the trench run in A New Hope, not the only scene from a New Hope I saw in this movie either. Not that that's a bad thing, there are far worse movies Up could've emulated.
