Mine came today in the same flimsy padded envelope. Well, it was dent city USA

, but I guess I knew it by just looking at the envelope. They've never shipped singles to me in this type of envelope in the past; they normally use the foldover cardboard which is not great but better than this crap.

I've sent them an email, but does anyone know if they cover return shipping on replacements. It seems like they only offer a couple of bucks as a refund if I choose the replacement option.

P.S. ...and no cards also to add insult to injury

they may give you a refund and send a new copy

I guess it's not a lot of dough, but I've been dying to get this one to open it up and watch the movie...I guess I'll have to be patient.

My copy arrived today... with a pin sized dent on the front top left.

It's really only noticable in the correct light, but I'm debating whether or not to inform them to see what can be done.

got my 2 the other day. Perfect condition but i got mine from play.com still came in a crappy padded envelope but lucky for me all was fine

I think he said "no cards" before opening it - the cards are inside, behind the front cover.

Well I'm pissed.... Mine arrived today in those paper-thin padded envelopes... and the steelbook got crushed.

I've been ordering from Amazon.co.uk for around 5 years now, and I've never had a product ( steelbook or otherwise ) come in those paper containers. Heck, Highlander Steelbook came and it had a cardboard shipping container ( if you want to call it that ).

I sent out an e-mail to Amazon for a replacement. Let's see how the treat this.

Pisses me off, because I wanted to freakin watch the movie because I havn't seen it in 2 years, but now I have to wait and see what Amazon will do. Freakin' pisses me off. 18 Quid shipped to my place, and that's almost $40 CAD... while I could have purchased it locally, two weeks ago ( with special features that would work on my ps3 ), for 1/2 that! Arg, now If it has to be sent back, I gotta wait another 10 days, and hope to god that one doesn't get damaged.

Here's the damage report ( pics will come soon )

Back: Dented in pretty deep
side where it opens: Dented in, looks like it was bent in half
front: bigger dent in the blu-banner

Forgive me for asking, but what is a quid? Is that like a German Doushmark? I see you are in Canada. I thought your country has Canadian Dollars.

Regardless, I hope Amazon UK replaces your Gladiator ASAP.

The people on Top Gear refer to the British Pound as Quid. That's where I get it from.

Yeah, I paid 18 GBP for it, but the credit card company converts it into Canadian Money, which is almost double ( think I got charged $39.xx on my Visa )
