I can agree with this. A boy and his car, well that's classic Spielberg, whether it be an alien, a car, a shark, etc etc. Let's hope Spielberg tells Bay to tone that crap down for the third. I would like to drive home without a migraine please.

I actually saw G.I. Joe yesterday with my son. It was entertaining but the CG was horrid, I mean SyFy, NBC Mini Series calibur. If you're gonna market this as a Summer Blockbuster, then you cannot skimp on the Special Effects for crying out loud. The lack of a "military angle" (and some of us who have siblings that grew up with the larger action figures and some of us that grew up with the 80s versions of the franchise will know what I'm talking about) killed this movie IMO.

The correct response to the OP is the first movie was better done but the second movie is more fun. Honestly, if you're looking for more than a pretty girl running and explosions from these movies, you don't know Michael Bay.

The first movie was better done, but the second one is more fun? huh? So the one that isnt done as well as the other is more fun? You would think it would be, The first movie is done better than the second, the first movie is more fun...

LOL what? The first one was a little slow but seemed to be more well-constructed. The second one had more laughs, more action and more giant robots. I do think the third movie needs to cut out the humans almost completely, at the very least kill off Megan Fox.

So did you not notice the humor? or the TRANSFORMERS? or the kick-*** fights? or you know, the story?

Believe it or not, Michael Bay does actually make movies, not just pictures of explosions like a lot of people around this site seems to say. That's the stigma he has gotten because he loves him some explosions and action sequences but each movie has more than that.

The slo-mo running from Fox was in the second one, doesn't happen in the first.

I really liked G.I Joe, it felt like an elongated live action saturday morning cartoon

Both movies are centered on toys made for 10 year old boys.

Regarding ROTF, I like how Ebert begins his review:
Quote:
"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is a horrible experience of unbearable length, briefly punctuated by three or four amusing moments.
