I came close to smashing my RockBand guitar a couple of weeks ago (and not because I was in the rocker moment)

There are a couple of songs in RockBand2 that I don't like and I don't "get" meaning that I can't get the rhythm of the song. Anyways, one of those songs showed up on one of the challenge set lists which forced me to play it about 8 times (getting me angrier and angrier with each attempt - "why is this stupid *#%! song even in this game?!?" lol) and I just couldn't do it.

I'm more prone to sudden outbursts of profanity than breaking things. More so with games that have some control issues or ridiculously hard boss fights for no reason. Not saying I want them to be easy since I typically play on the hardest setting but when you are one or two hits away from defeating him and you get killed it's frustrating especially after 10 tries or so.

Yesterday I was playing WipEout online and even though I'm usually good at the game I lost all the time! Constantly bombarded with those stupid waves and the only weapons I got was michine gun and bombs!

Finally hit my table and now there's a big hole in it

It was Ikea though so screw it
Nope, it is just a game.

finally! A support group for someone like me!

I went through who knows how many PS2 controllers. I'd crack them off the coffee table. I threw a gameboy advanced against the wall.

after that I realized once and for all how much money I was wasting on my temper. So if a game starts to get that bad I just trade it in. (like bayonetta. I beat it on super easy because I was so frustrated on normal and then traded it in less than a week after buying it. )

I have done really well in the last 5 years or so. Only thing is I did slam my hand down on the red pad of my Rock band drum kit when i failed a song at the last minute when trying to do a challenge for the trophy. but it just cracked it a little and still works fine.

non gamers just don't understand how frustrating it can be. lol glad I'm not alone.

My fiance always wonders who I'm cursing at when I play video games lol. I've broken controllers when I was younger but I wouldn't throw them now. Have punched the ground and hurt my hand a few times. lol

Never broke anything but I get mad and rant to my family members. Like my grandma who hasn't played a game since Duck Hunt, or my uncle that only plays golf and football games. They understand ENOUGH of what made me mad that I'm not talking to the wall, but they don't get why I'm ranting and that usually calms me down. Can't stand looking/sounding like an idiot

I never did however my brother on the other hand used to break controllers on the regular and there were many times during Madden tournaments with friends and he would get crushed and then just stand up and whip the controller off the wall ????

When I was younger, all the time. Countless SNES and Genesis controllers died on my basement floor. Hasn't happened since I started buying my own systems. Hm, wonder if there is any correlation?

Closest I've come in recent years was the plane flying in GTA:SA. I stopped playing the game for a month and then I went back and it was the easiest thing I'd ever done. Weird.

A pilot friend of mine has this flying game for the 360 and he says it's harder than actually flying a plane. He says the mechanics don't make any sense and he had an easier time learning to actually fly than playing the game.

Alright recently I was playing No More Heroes 2 and I was facing Matt Helms on the hardest difficulty and he was SO hard to beat so I threw my wii mote at a wall asuming the wii condom would protect it, but it broke so I had to buy a new one. Good news is the new one is the color black

And here you're making comments about "parenthood, and what went wrong" in Heavy Rain?

"I wasn't brought up to be a spoiled brat so as much as I've wanted to "break" something out of frustration I used something called restraint. You learn restraint when your young and told "no" or "you can't have that""

Despite the underhanded jabs he makes, he has a good point. I get the sneaking suspicion that anyone that gets that angry over a video game is as likely to do something they will come to regret to another human being.

I've only ever thrown other toys during temper tantrums, like that one time when I was like 3 and threw my big blue toy truck through the window. Never again, never again. (Oh, the difference a good, sound spanking makes.)

After reading every post in this thread, no one, I mean, no one is allowed to come to my house to play video games; unless you have money or bring your own accessories.

What exactly do you mean by this comment?

Edit: That is the most absurd comment ive read in these forums. just because i once lost my temper and smashed a controller off the floor does not make me a danger to other human beings.

I am embarrased to admit that it has taken A LOT out of me to not break anything. I certainly curse all the time but I try not to throw anything. During MW2, the section where you have to download Makarov's files in his safehouse on Veteran difficulty was one of THE hardest missions I have ever had to do. I seriously died over 150x's. Now that I think of it, I can't believe how mad I got. I literally felt relief when I finally beat it. Such an accomplishment!

I remember when I was younger I got so pissed off at a game that I took the controller off the system (back in the days controllers had cables!) and then kicked it to the wall smashing it (I was so angry I didnt even care about the pain). Later on, since I couldnt afford a new controller, I taped it back (it actuall still worked!)
Now, there is a lot of (LOUD) swearing coming out when I get frustrated and I came close to throwing some controllers but most of the equipment in the room are real expensive so I hold myself back with more swearing.

I've destroyed two copies of COD MW. Playing online and dying repeatedly due to lag and no online friends at the time.

I've learned to use the on/off button on my PS3 now when I get aggravated
