No Invert! Well, that's 40 dollars I can spend on something else. I've already beaten Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, but GOS looks mighty pretty on my digital projector...

Shin-Ra I hope you will be happy to help.

It's not that easy. I've been playing inverted ever since X-wing and Tie Fighter on PC. It's rather like trying to write with your opposite hand. My right hand can write, but only in looping scribbles. With practice, I could get better, but it will never feel natural.

You know these kind of crap posts aren't helpful. Many people play using inverted. I cant play any other way and I dont know anyone else who can either. Admittedly "do you play with inverted controls" is not a something gets discussed often.

The original games had invert, no reason the HD updates shouldn't either.

My copy of this arrived from amazon and I have to confirm my worst fear:

There is no invert option.

I absolutely cannot play these using "normal" controls. It just doesn't work for me.

Congratulations goes out to Ubisoft for getting me to buy a game I can't play.

I am going to start a petition or something. I am not going to let this go unfixed. Its absolutely inexcusable to forget something simple like an option to invert the controls.

I have been trying to play this using non-inverted controls and its just impossible. My instincts kick in and force me to play inverted.

Its just beyond disappointing to finally see these Splinter Cell games released with high rez textures and trophies and not be able to play them due to something silly like leaving out the option to invert. When this was first announced I was excited beyond belief.

I guess I am asking everyone for some help and asking you to register on the Ubisoft forums so you can send customer support an email to request that they patch in an option to invert the controls.

http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/app/ask

If you are going to respond to this quote please do not respond and say something like "Ubisoft doesn't care about a few pissed off customers" OR "learn to play normal" I really don't want to hear it.

Shin-Ra, Maximus and/or Toxa if you have any contacts at Ubisoft who can help get this through the proper channels it would be MUCH appreciated.

This travesty needs to be fixed.

Thanks.

I really doubt they'll fix it unfortunately.
Look at the PoP Trilogy, Warrior Within had game breaking glitches in the PS2 version (including one that happens RIGHT at the END!) and Ubisoft did nothing about them when putting it on the PS3.
It seems like they don't care or don't want to bother with fixing these Trilogy releases. Makes me hesitant to purchase this one.

If nobody stands up and complains then Ubisoft will do nothing about it.

But some people (like me) actually make an effort to do something.

Woah, that read angry to me. I'm in no way against what you're doing.
I've actually complained too, not about this game since I haven't played it yet, but plenty of us already complained about PoP Trilogy. Unfortunately it did get us nowhere.

I try harder than most. I will call the corporate office and do stuff like that. I am still just baffled as to how something like that could have been left out of the game.

While you're at it, can you also tell them about the choppy framerate?

This is the main reason I'm gonna return it as soon as I get it. It's inexcusable after so many delays, which should have translated into a more polished product.

Once I get a number or some bonafide contact info I will pass that info on and you can help me raise hell

Started on Chaos Theory since I played that one for a while on the PC although I never completed it. Seems pretty good and comparable and the graphics are better than I expected for an "upgraded" program. Haven't tried the other two yet but maybe I'll give those a shot tonight. I haven't finished any of the splinter cell series so if the other two are up to the same standard (graphics-wise, gameplay, etc.) as Chaos Theory, I think it was well worth the money.

IMO the games look GREAT! They look exactly how you would expect from an HD remix. You will never mistake them for a game that was made today, but these HD remix's really play on the nostalgia factor.

Unfortunately, I can't play them because of the stupid lack of an invert option.

Speaking of the lack of invert.

I have been tweating, emailing anyone who does gaming news and/or might have contacts in Ubisoft.

So far Joystiq is the only gaming site to acknowledge the issue:
http://www.joystiq.com/2011/09/30/sp...-inverted-aim/

I seem to be the only who is devoted to doing this!! But I am hopeful it is working.
