I don't warrant a price cut or a new PS3 with a 40GB HD a 'big announcement' TBH. A big announcement would be something really new or Sony have dug out a prototype Toshiba Blu-Ray player or something. Also all those who got a PS3 on launch day get a free copy of FIFA 08 or something!

As with all rumours, I'll wait till the 12th. Speculation causes hype and hysteria. We learnt that. Come on guys.

Man,... I eat a lot of chicken. Like Jim Morrison of the doors said in one of the songs "I eat more chicken any man ever seen" however,.. I don't think I could go very long on fish/chicken only. It would have to be something more like fish/chicken/peanut butter M&M's only.

If it's a new model I hope it has an upgraded HDMI chipset to allow for bitstream of the new codecs.

GT4 prologue is free
oct 30th firmware 2.0 ...with profile 1.1
spideman 3.american version has pip
exchage ur controller for the DS3
a software to make u ps3 get up and walk...
or command driven ps3...jsu talk into your headset...similar to ur phone and say eg "ON" "OFF" "COMMENCE WARHAWK"

oh and this is true tho,,,the ps3 will have sleeptimer and standby...on the next update....plus when ur remote playing..and ur like far from home...u can turn off/on ur ps3 using ur psp.....

That would be pretty cool...kinda not needed at all, but would be cool to show people from time to time. That's about it.

As for Wake-On-Lan through PSP, this is one thing I CANNOT wait for, it's going to be so handy. I'm glad I bought a PSP, although I wish I had the new model

For the PS3 as a gaming machine, that wouldn't help them at all though. If sony wants to beat the XBOX, they need to do something that will make gamers want to buy the system. I supposed right now the biggest thing is to lower the price, since that's what everyone complains about. Almost everyone who has a PS3 doesn't even know what DTS-MA is, same with the people interested in it (gamers I'm talking about). While that announcement would be fantastic for us, I don't think something like that would make the consoles fly off the shelves like Sony wants.

Best bet is the price drop, or even a surprise early release of an extremel high profile game such as GTA:IV. Both of those would boost sales enormously over the Christmas season.

If it were about the PS3 why wouldn't they have made the announcement before Halo 3 was released?
WB and Universal both going blu-ray exclusive. Announced in time to put the beat down on Transformers.

If Halo 3 is so popular why do they have about 25 copies still at my local Wally world? i will admit i will buy Transformers on SD just because i loved the movie, yell at me if you wish

Sony denies things until the 11th hour, so we will see. Halo 3 is popular and is selling like crazy that fact is undeniable, you see copies becasue MS wanted there to be MORE then enough. Though weather Halo 3 can sell 360's is the question especially since people now know how big a POS it is.

Don't worry, Halo sold $300 million US in the first week of sales. That is a VERY good number...best ever in fact. But that's beside the point, I agree Sony may be denying it now, but that's what companies do. If it's to be a surprise, then they want it to be a surprise. We'll see on October 12th, maybe it's nothing, but I'm guessing something great sill happen.
