@Sunny:
A quick question. Of all the projects you have done so far, which is the one that for you had the best combination of a good movie and good technical quality of source for BD?

44 frames of video footage was removed at the request of the director...while 4 lines of dialogues was muted. It was mostly the mention of "Allah" and Islamic names of people.

Director now maintains that this version is his final cut of the film.

While this may be the case, I still think he was a little scared of "certain" pressure groups.

Sadly, I (nor API) cannot go against the director wishes.

I can tell you that upcoming Telugu and Tamil DVD versions, that are to be released by other companies, will actually feature more voluntary cuts.

Personally - and this is my opinion only - the pressure groups / politicians / high courts who are causing the recent scandals in the Tamil film industry seem ignorant on the ways of modern living and globalization! Yes - they can air their concerns but banning a film is not a democratic solution. It goes against what India stands for and shows them as a bunch of cun*s

good movie and quality - Angadi Theru, Ayan & Naan Mahaan Alla.

The blu-rays were actually better then the 2K Digital cinema files (JPEG2000). I also enjoyed the films, and very proud to be associated with them.

Also Sivaji blu-ray - it's my guilt pleasure. Just love the overly stylized acting, songs, Rajini and production values - good 4K source and great blu-ray encode.

Vishwaroopam won't come to blu-ray for a while. The film has become a global hit...so waiting for Kamal Hassan to release the DPX files to us - which he'll do after the film has run its course on the big screen.

Vettai is coming...again not sure when.

Hey Sunny - (bit of a novice here) but can this AURO 3d format be included in a BLU RAY even though the format is in its infancy across the world.

Also would this be in 7.1.?

Also do you envisage Kamal Hassan doing any special features and directors commentary.

It would be great to get an insight on the Set Design, Special effects and filming techniques used in the movie.

^@sunil: Current home surround sound places most speakers near the listening height of the audience. Auro 3D format needs specific arrangement of additional speakers above the listener at various heights. Typically it is encoded for higher number of speakers like 11.1. While it might be possible to include it on a blu-ray depending on available space, you would definitely need a new receiver to decode the additional channels and speakers at the appropriate height to recreate the effect.

AURO cannot be included on blu-ray format. Too many channels...which could comprise on the bitrate used for picture.

There is a 5.1 version mix done by the film-makers which we may use. Haven't decided on anything yet.

No special features will be included. All I'm trying to do is to get the Original Indian Censor Board version that was released worldwide....not the Tamil Naidu cut...

44 frames in terms of duration please.

i agree with the fact that these hypocrites are doing it for fame and fim is the easy target for it.
Also, an episode of Homeland had muted "mosque" on star world India so from this you can get the current scenario in India.

cheers bro... makes sense on the new receiver though.

I am in the market for a new speaker system in my house. thinking 7.2 and bowers and wilkins.

but i reckon over the next few years Dolby ATMOS and Auro 3d would be some what affordable as home theatre gear...
