Oh, and we can't forget Song of the South. Of course, that wasn't even released on VHS.

Not in the U.S.

Song of the South has never been released on any home format in the U.S. Those laser disc releases, and the others, are all foreign.

FRAUDS (1993) - Starring Hugo Weaving and Phil Collins (yes the singer/drummer) Its a really good dark comedy. I rented it on Laserdisc back in the day. Its never had a DVD or Bluray release as far as I can tell. I would love to have it at least on DVD. Look it up on IMDB if you have never heard of it. Great comedy.

1985's Bad Medicine is not on DVD.

The VHS was released fairly recently in 2002.

Many silents are still unreleased on DVD. If we were to include licensed foreign DVD releases - both the Crowd and Greed have been out for years now in Japan.

In the US:
The Wind (on laserdisc) remains missing as does
The Student Prince (Lubtisch 1927, LD)
The Wedding March (von Stroheim, 1928, VHS)
Old Ironsides (1927, VHS)
Running Wild (1927, VHS)
The Covered Wagon (LD)
Beau Geste (1926, LD)
Hollywood: A Celebration of the American Silent Film (Brownlow, 1980, LD)

and many, many more.

On the other hand, DVD has brought many titles to the market that never would have made it on VHS or Laserdisc. I think it's a trade off.

COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN
SPLIT IMAGE
BLOOD AND ROSES (1961)
UNHOLY ROLLERS (reportedly coming from Shout Factory)
GIRLS TOWN (1959)
PLATINUM HIGH SCHOOL
THE INCIDENT (1967)

There are still many titles that have yet to see a home video release in any format.

- The Addiction (1995)

Luckily if you have a DVD recorder you can sometimes find these on the movie channels often enough.

Yeah most of the Disney channel original movies of the 1990s were released on VHS and some were never released on DVD like my favorite the thirteenth year.

There are hundreds of titles on VHS, that's still not available on DVD. The movie I've been waiting for years to be released on DVD, or even blu-ray for that matter is: Looking for Mr. Goodbar. I don't know why, or what's preventing Paramount to release this movie on DVD!

The original broadcast version of The Point was narrated by Dustin Hoffman. The VHS and Laserdisc was done by Ringo Starr and the Disney Channel broadcast it narrated by Alan Thicke. I've only seen it Broadcast once in the original version in the last 20 years by PBS. Hoffman's version is the best and I recorded it on S-VHS and then transferred onto DVD.

When I was a kid, I had this movie called Terminus on VHS, with a talking truck and a cameo role by Jürgen Prochnow - would love to own that on blu or dvd.

Wish the paper brigade would get a full, uncut release.

It would be great if Disney would release the Disney Channel Original Movies on Blu-ray in volumes, with 5-10 movies each.
