What about movies that are 2-movie collections? Shanghai Noon/Knights or Grumpy/Grumpier Old Men for example. Does redeeming that give both movies in HDX They're both on one disc so it would suck to have to pay for each movie? What about box sets like the Harry Potter Collection. Is that one redemption to get all eight films? Or do we need to do each film individually? How about Lord of the Rings Extended vs Theatrical. Does it know the difference?

an added question: do we know what remaster we would get with certain films (like Lethal Weapon 1 & 2)? Last edited by GuyIncognito; 06-04-2013 at 12:26 AM. |

Box sets are hit or miss. I've had all of the discs in a set of multiple films show up as the same film (normally the film on the first disc), and I've had each disc show up as the correct movie. And again, if they all show up as separate movies, you'll have to pay for each movie. You won't get an entire set for the price of one. On with different versions of a movie, again, it's hit or miss. Usually, you only get the option for one or the other (extended/unrated or theatrical), and which one is available depends on the title. So, I think you're probably seeing a pattern here. The service can be hit or miss. ![]() |

With the new software version, I'm getting this message an awful lot for some discs that are disc-to-digital eligible:

Looks like they've got a few new bugs as they're trying to push this out to more people. |

I have both Legal Wreckin 1 & 2 in HDX and I'm almost certain they're the same as the original Blu-ray releases, not the newer versions. They still have the old WB studio logos and the transfers aren't that great.

Something tells me if you download the HDX you get a 2GB file which is half the capacity of a (single layer) DVD. Meanwhile the Blu Ray encode tends to weigh in at over 30GB. If ever there was apples and oranges. HDX is not Blu Ray quality and you can't figure your getting something equivalent in any respect. I almost forgot that myself when I considered getting started with this Disc to Digital stuff.... I kind of like Vudu now but I think I'll stick with the free copies I get from my Blus. HDX isn't similar to Blu Ray quality. It's "HD" perhaps in some regard but highly compressed to the max. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 06-04-2013 at 12:45 PM. |

Ok.....so alot of people were asking about a list. I knew there was one on the Vudu forums but wasn't sure where. Finally found the list. This is not an official list, just one made by the members of the Vudu forums.
All credit goes to FattyMoBookyButt. ![]() click here scroll down to post #62 and in the signature of FattyMoBookyButt is a Disc to Digital DB (Data Base) link. FULL LIST and LATEST UPDATES |

And you're right. HDX certainly isn't Blu-ray. But I'd bet that most consumers probably would equate the picture quality as being similar to Blu-ray. We all know the two are quite different, but at a casual glance, I bet even the majority of users here wouldn't know for sure at first. The biggest obvious difference in quality comes on the sound front. HDX doesn't even come close to a lossless track on a Blu-ray. I love Vudu and UV for when I'm traveling. It's great to have access to so many titles on the go across so many different devices (Android phone, iPad, PC, PS3, laptop, desktop, TV, Roku, etc). That's why I don't mind spending a small amount for disc-to-digital on some titles - because I actually use the service. But when I'm at home, I definitely prefer Blu-ray. |
