and can we please get a steelbook/digibook blu-ray release featuring the theatrical version as well as an extended directors cut, complete with a proper 4k scan, gag (choking pun intended) reel, extended and deleted scenes and full cast commentary? ... well almost the full cast.... let's say... surviving cast members commentary.

It's harder than you think. First of all, the hardest thing of all is getting a film funded. Why do you think you see 17 logos and 9 producers at the heads of most films these days? Secondly, stick around for the credits on most films and see that many films have a thousand people working on them. Thirdly, it's not that hard to obtain gross dollars, but profits are a completely other matter and most films lose money. In fact, even the really big successful films lose money according to Hollywood accounting. And writing a screenplay is harder than you think. Sit down and write one and then come back to us and tell us how easy it was.

I don't know about Frank Capra's estate, but Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale have lifetime contracts prohibiting Universal from remaking the trilogy while either man lives. They have both said they are in the process, of expanding that arrangement to their respective estates.

A Star Trek spin off that not only is set entirely on Earth, but it takes place 200+ years prior to the events of the original series.

The other 2 I wouldn't see since I don't care for the originals but I wouldn't mind seeing a more violent, gory rated R remake of Jaws.

Lool obviously I'm not being literal. I don't know the right people to actually get a script seen, I'm just saying these things take so little talent and inspiration. All you have to do is take something contemporarily relevant, twist it a little bit and package it up as a lowest common denominator comedy.

I have written a few screenplays actually purely for myself.

Never thought there would ba a Transformers live action movie. Would like to see them do a remake of The Car, specially with today's effects.

Not surprised that it was made and not surprised that I never heard of it. Won't be surprised if it happens again.

I could see those rights being sold off like Star Wars by the next off kin and here we go again. I've already seen a couple of examples of inheriting family memebers who cared nothing for their parents wishes to keep property in the family and sold it all off for cash. So it's definitely in the realm of possibility. It seems that most times it's just about finding the right time and price.

I would actually be down for a film based on the Slinky toy.

Do you remember those old commercials where people effortlessly made their Slinky toys go down an entire flight of stairs?

I never could make my Slinky go down a whole flight of stairs. The Slinky would go down two or three stairs, and then just quit out on me.

I dunno. I've never seen anyone do this in real life. You pretty much need to have a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering just to make that stupid thing go down six or seven stairs.

I'd like to see a Slinky movie where an average guy has his entire family kidnapped by terrorists, and the terrorists are threatening to kill his family in two hours unless he somehow manages to make a Slinky toy go down an entire flight of stairs. Man...talk about a tense movie plot!

Well, as a huge fan of the trilogy, I'd really hate to see its legacy ruined. Everyone involved put so much of themselves into that project, from Zemeckis and Gale to the cast, crew, editors, Alan Silvestri, etc. Its truly one of the best original time-travel efforts in the last 50 years, and my hope is it will remain intact for many generations to come. The best way to do that is for Zemeckis and Gale to make sure their wills are fully legalized, to prevent their estates from allowing any more versions of the story. Games and books are one thing, but the films themselves deserve their place in history and pop culture.

I would just write the script to where the clock was winding down and then at the very last moment.... wait for it....our so-called average guy would experience a last minute epiphany and simply coil the Slinky toy up and roll it down the stairs!!!! After all, my fine feathered friends... the feeble minded terrorists simply demanded that he make a slinky toy "go down" an entire flight of stairs! They never specifically stated that the slinky in question would have to "walk (or perhaps "slink" would be a better term) down" an entire flight of stairs!!! HA!!!! taaa daaaa!!!! Cue up the triumphant music as good ol' fashion American ingenuity combined with a heaping helping of chutzpa defeats the evil, no-good (and terribly naughty) baddies of the world!!!!!!! God... I love it when a plan comes together! (I wonder if Liam would be available for the role?)

Zemeckis gave permission for it though, and Bob Gale was one of the producers.

It's a wonderful life has been remade so many times. I cant think of a single 80s or 90s sitcom that didnt do an it a wonderful life themed episode.

We have 'The Voice', I mean 'Sing' now, so it's only a matter of time before we get an animated 'Dancing With The Stars', I mean 'Dance'

My personal favorite is the "Married With Children" version. Sam Kinison plays the Clarence character and it turns out the world would in fact be better if Al Bundy was never born. So good.
