Interesting you say that. I also feel it's Horner's best work. The themes really matched the characters and the story.

While you can definitely hear some influences from John Barry's DANCES WITH WOLVES score, or his own PATRIOT GAMES score, Horner really nailed this one!

if you like zwick. it's a no-brainer. it was his passion project that Glory afforded him to do. apparently he use to hand out copies of the book as gifts to everyone he knew. the passion really comes across in his direction.

its a sprawling, sweeping, sorrow-driven drama with great performances as well as the aforementioned technical achievements. either way, please be sure to post your thoughts after you see it.

i too will be beyond pissed if it's a flawed transfer. esp. since it's taken 5 year to come out since being an original BD launch title.
Didn't know all that passion but it certainly comes through.

I've always felt this is among the most perfectly told stories on film.

I watched this on dvd the other day for the first time and I got to say, if the transfer is done right there are some scenes that could look breathtaking. What a depressing movie though.

Yes, tragic is a better description. I did enjoy the film though.

Oddly enough, my preorder isn't shipping. I have prime and when I ordered it said "Get it on the release date!" yet it's not even in the shipping soon status. I also noticed that when you go to the page to order the movie, there's no option of "order in the next *** and get it on the release date!" Very odd...

I'm having the same problem. I'm a Prime member as well. Also, where are the reviews?

I have a strange feeling that when I head out to the stores tomorrow to pick this up, nobody will have it in stock.

Mine hasn't started shipping either. Also, mine was ordered with the 2day/same day shipping but Last Thursday night I cancelled my order and re-ordered it since it was a dollar cheaper and now they said in order to get same day delivery I would have to upgrade to one day shipping even though I am a Amazon Prime Member - so now they say it is not coming till Thursday the 10th. I will be surprised if I ever get this movie at all, been waiting 4 years for it!

Also my boyfriend pre-ordered this movie with 2day/same day shipping and his hasn't shipped either.

Same problem here. Amazon.com are not showing my pre-order as "shipping soon", although they have already shipped three other BDs being released on the same date (Feb 8th).

For a long time, I was suspicious about this announced release because Amazon were not even accepting pre-orders until very recently. I don't know what's going on with it, but somehow I suspect we won't be seeing it for a while. I hope I'm wrong but I don't have a good feeling about it.

Weird--I have the opposite issue. I got a shipping confirmation earlier today but the item I paired it with for free shipping (THE RIVER WILD) is still pending for shipment. At least one LEGENDS OF THE FALL is out there in the wild..for me!

Sadly mine still isn't shipping Oh well, I have enough to keep my busy this week. But it kind of bugs me that Amazon offers the option to buy it to get it on the release date and then doesn't follow thru (not the first time this has happened). I'm sure tomorrow I'll get an e-mail saying "the release date has changed" and then I'll e-mail customer support going "no it didn't" and they'll be like "these things happen unexpectedly, sorry" and that'll be it. And of course they then wont ship it one day delivery to make up for their mistake so I'll have to wait till who knows when to actually get it... But oh well, I've waited for a few years now, a few extra days wont kill me lol...

Amazon.com are now showing that it will be in stock on February 11th. Sounds like they got just a few copies initially, with the main supply being delayed for some reason.

Well as long as it gets shipped by the end of the week, I'll be happy enough. I've already got a few other BDs on the way.
